Last June, my father, I, ate Jean, papa Hugo went to Tiwi, Albay to accompany my cousin Jig for a "Pamanhikan" (where the guy formally ask the parents of his girlfriend for marriage). The trip is really exciting because it's my first time to go to Tiwi and first time to witness a Pamanhikan. We took a 8 pm Daraga bus ride, then shift to a Tiwi Bus route. Our trip took us 14 hours, just to get to our destinatination. And believe me it was a painful ass experience. On the way to Tiwi I could see clearly the awesome beauty of Mt. Mayon, with just some smoke rousing on its tip. Down its slope even from afar I saw the twice wide like river, were the lava flows. Amazing creation of God.
One week before it spews ash and molten material. We have the privilege to climb half of its height where "The Resthouse" is located. We got there by motorcyle at around 7pm and beleive me you'll love what you'll see when you get there. There you could see Tabacco City, Tiwi, geothermal plant and other neighboring municipalities, grotto with gigantic cross overhead, picnic grove, and planetarium. Plus all the beautiful flowers, bonsia and other rare plants. The view is breathtaking! But the air is damn cold, it chills to the bone.
Now I dont know on what will happen to The Resthouse if Mt. Mayon continuosly build-up to a major explosion.
