Now I know what you're thinking CJ. . . maybe just one more, a little friend for Max?    Stop it now ha ha!

Thanks for letting us know and giving us the chance to actually see this lucky little fella.  What a brilliant result for such a little cutie.  Please let us know if they follow up with who's gonna adopt him.

First of all, I'm glad the puppy's okay and I hope they find out who hurt it so that person can be punished.

Secondly, I'm bothered by the title of the article.  Not that the media would ever intentionally perpetuate negative stereotypes or anything, but if I were a Wiccan, I'd certainly take offense at reading a headline that said "Witchcraft pup beats the odds."  Whoever hurt the puppy was undoubtedly a sick, sick person, but he or she wasn't a practitioner of Wicca/witchcraft.

I'm pretty sure a practitioner of a religion whose credo is "An it harm none, do what ye will" wouldn't spear a puppy and bury it alive.

I see where you are coming from Eilan.  The art of witchcraft has so long been portraid incorrectly.  I think they have used the wrong title here.

The puppy was purposely buried alive with 2 stakes in it.  There were items of jewellery and a dead chicken burried alongside.  I do believe it was a sacrifice of some kind.  Abhorent though this may seem to many of us, as I stated in my comment on the original story a few weeks back, some people are raised to genuinely believe in these superstitions.  The person that did this may not have wanted to harm an innocent puppy, but may have beleived he/she were saving the life of a small child, a parent or grandparent that is so dear to them.  That human life outweighed what they had to do, in their belief to save that person from suffering or death.

I have seen many documentaries on this subject.  Many do not even see dogs and cats the same way that we do - as pets, so there is no value on their life.  This is very hard for me to take in too.

The story about that dear puppy that was saved from those horrific witchcraft practices really affected me. I'm upset that anyone would want to hurt an innocent animal - and even worse, also attempt to harm another person. I’m glad he’s safe now and being cared for. I know that today a lot of people are experimenting with different metaphysical and holistic practices. I felt I should say that not all energy work is negative. I’ve been a Reiki master teacher for 10 years and it’s a practice based on loving, positive energy that benefits a person on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. One has to ask for Reiki. A reputable practitioner does not enforce their will on someone. I don't believe anyone has the right to psychically or physically attack others. People who do that will ultimately have a huge debt to pay.
