A couple of hours ago I layered the first coat of primer on the kitchen.  There is a firm policy in place at my house when it comes to me painting.  It's referred to as the 50/50 rule.  When purchasing paint or primer the necessary quantity is carefully calculated to an exact figure which is then doubled.  Fifty percent of the purchased quantity goes on the walls.  The remaining fifty percent goes on me.  It's a fail proof method.  For any one who cares I am now fully primed.

LOL. Botoni, and later what lovely shade of paint will you be to go atop that primer? ;)

Zayda.....I look divine in red but I think the kitchen is headed for an interesting yellow/gold/orange sorta maybe.

Well Botti, just think, the yellow/gold/orange will make you even more colorful than you already are, especially if you paint while in your pink glitter thong!

bot- I respect people who are fully primed, it adds to their character. And to be painted later in a color of their choice gives beauty to the job at hand.

Ah, to just think of the times I have actually been a Renoir...

    a Monet...

Bot~You sound like an autumn landscape...... Lovely.

LOL  All primed up and nowhere to go.  I have a couple rooms that could use a paint job...

Zayda.....Thonged painting could become a new fad I suppose.

Beyond.....No missing ear so you must not be Dutch.

Woman.....LOL.....by golly I do believe my kitchen is going to have a lot of autumn colors in it too.

MissMimi.....I'd love to paint for you.  I may have failed to mention that not only do I paint walls and me but usually manage to color almost anything within a few hundred feet.  If you're cool with that we may have a deal.

All primed and no place to "go off"?  Story of my life ;)

When painting I find that it can also be used as a condiment for food.
  • botoni said on Aug 12, 2008....

Quiet....Trust me on this, you definately don't want to see the painted bot even if you think you do.

UI.....I've not yet developed a taste for it as a condiment but I have noticed it attacking food.

LOL  uni...  I hear ya, sister.  ;)  But that's a whole 'nother blog.

    Cool post Bot !

Have your primers tinted to the paint you'll be using for a better result and less material cost over all.

A point of interest for your consideration, prior to final color coating, apply a water proofing paint to the wall near the sink areas (above and below cabinets) as we as near stove and fridge areas.  This added protection almost eliminates any moisture damage to the areas near or around water/moisture areas as well (Sheetrock, Insulation, etc.).

Primed and cocked Botty....primed and cocked...a true sign of a warrior ; ) (loaded and ready to fire).

    jess ; )
