I want to take an interest in the Olympics despite the fact that they are showing me sports I have no interest in, featuring athletes I have no interest in. After all, it's the Olympics.

But in order for me to take these dopy sports seriously, the people bringing the show to me have to take them seriously.

I was just watching women's beach volleyball, USA vs. Germany. It was a very close match, within a point, coming towards the end. I was taking it seriously. Then they cut away for commercials. Obama and his two ears sticking out. Some bullshit about us converting to wind and solar energy within 8 years, hahaha. Fuckin bullshit. Dream on. 8 years from now you'll still be filling up at the pump, sweetheart, and NOTHING will change. Nada. Nuttin. Except the price of gas. That will be double or triple what it is now.

And they fuckin know it.

Well, the commercials done, the lying done, we're back to women's Olympic beach volleyball, and the announcers are telling me that the USA just went on an amazing streak, the game's over, thank you very much, and they start showing us the girls sitting on a bench before the start of the second section of the game. What the fuck!

Tell me exactly what the fuck I was watching that whole first set for? To see the girls basically tied, to see some bullshit commercials, to miss all the excitement, and then to be told the team won and fuck you?

They didn't even show a replay of any of the exciting parts. They didn't show the girls all excited that they won the first set. They didn't show how the first set ended. It's like when the commercials are on, the cameramen take a smoke break and stop filming. All the exciting stuff in the game occurs, but nobody gives a shit, nobody bothers to film it, nobody bothers to show it to us, and nobody even comments about it. It's just business as usual, there are the girls sitting on a bench, that's it, what are we watching this crap for?

Nobody at USA network gives a shit. So why should we? It undermines the whole Olympics. We're just here to sell products (including Obama and his happy horseshit, not that I'll vote for the anti-MMA prick running against him either) and the events themselves aren't important enough for us to show you how they end. Your team won, so shut up and watch the next set of commercials.

So what I did was shut the tv. What am I wasting my time with this shit for if it isn't even important enough to the broadcasters to show us how the games end?

Those idiots are feeding the American public sports that we really don't give a shit about. Maintain the illusion, boys. Maintain the illusion that it matters who wins. I realize that the only thing that matters is that we turn on our tv sets and watch the commercials because they are generating money, but let's all just pretend that the show itself is of some importance too.
