Memo

To: Junie, Rolling C
From: Paige

We have been ASSigned (yes, you were reading that correctly, and I am not happy)
another client with "issues"
I am convinced B. B. is having some kind of a mid life crisis!
Take a look at this;

There's a ton of snobs on SOULCAST. The stuckup nothings can all go fuck the K-FAG(FED)

Junie, I couldn't get past There's!

Ms. Spears, it should be There're, as in There are, not There's, as in There is!
There is a ton of snobs on SOULCAST, makes you sound like the Hissing Serpent of
Sicily!

Mr C., I've had a financially fierce offer from Moyer Bell, is there any way to wriggle out of that nasty little contract I have with B. B.?

Non dire che! Who will be Mapp to my Lucia???
You know BB will throw molto lira at you if you threaten to leave!
And it isn't personal, Darling, my office has been assigned Paris Hilton!
    Isn't that a catch 22 situation!
  • PaigeLe'Editor said on Aug 11, 2008....
    Paris?  You poor thing!
We'd better call up Manuel and tell him to kick it up a notch with the Mimosas!
  • botoni said on Aug 11, 2008....
Junie is in for it with Paris on the client list.  Has charm school been considered for her?  Manuel had best be getting buckets for the Mimosas in my opinion.

    DeMille's Charm School, Darling B!
Oh my, my, I must still be feeling the effects of that White Russian I had in Soho last evening...he was just darling, Darling!
  • botoni said on Aug 11, 2008....
White Russians are so so very amazing!  I learned once that nine Black Russians were more than I could handle.  It was a dizzying experience I tell you.

I've look at these two and it looks like they're being posted by the same person. Do they share a publicist?

I'm sure they share a lot of things, sweetness!
Brains being at the top of that list!
"May I borrow the brain from 2:00 'til 4:00 this afternoon, dear?"
"Of course, let me see!  It's around here some where!"

Sorry PaigeLe'Editor, but when you say...
"Ms. Spears, it should be There're, as in There are, not There's, as in There is!
There is a ton of snobs on SOULCAST, makes you sound like the Hissing Serpent of Sicily!"
    ... you're wrong.

Break the sentence down into its components and the basic sentence core is "there is a ton on Soulcast".
The words "of snobs"  only add meaning to the noun "ton", which is singular.
So "There is a ton of snobs on Soulcast" is correct.

However, the actual content of "Spears"' post - now That  requires some strong critiquing!!!

Must have been the Mimosas, dear, I was bleary eyed when I looked at the copy!
Bravo, Tappa, for catching my mistake!
Even I'm not perfect all of the time!

Let's not even talk about the content!
    Horrors!

Even though I wouldn't pee on fire to put B.B. out.  I have to say, I think it's a little mean in general to critique spelling and grammar errors on other people's personal blogs.  It's pretty snobbish in my personal opinion.  Sort of implying you are better than they are because you speak correctly.

It's not nice to pick apart other people's "journals".  I know my entire blog is an English teacher's nightmare.  Not because im not capable of writing "correctly".  It just isn't a concern of mine as I write here, maybe it should be.  Pretty much my only goal when blogging is that it is readable, coherent and gets my point across.

If I was being graded that is a different story.  I guess it's just not a priority of mine.  Having said that, I think my feelings would be hurt if you were to copy and paste my blog tearing the content apart pointing out every grammatical and spelling error.

P.S.  I know that this comment is full of grammar and spelling errors.  However you are able to read it, and that was my goal.

I dont mean to offend, I just wanted to give my opinion.

    starchini, your grammar isn't bad: it's just informal & text-y. there's a difference. :>
