1.  My next door neighbor grows sunflowers.  He bungee-corded one of the stalks to his gutter to help it hold its little head up.  It just looked cute.

2.  I figured out how to design and print quilt labels on the computer.

3.  Eating a pickle for lunch.

4.  I got an e-mail from a friend who on occasion calls me "missy".  It always makes me smile because I get this image in my head of him with his arms crossed in front of him, tapping his foot impatiently.  :p

5.  A surprise for a friend.  I hope I can keep the beans from spilling.

6.  The weather is supposed to be sunny and in the low eighties over the weekend, so going to the zoo will be very pleasant.

mimi- Your post made me smile. The only one I've had today. Especially about the sunflower and....you had a pickle for lunch?

Actually, I did have one smile on my own - Molly, my puppy, came to me with a toy in her mouth and stared at me. It was time for me to go outside with her and drink a beer. You see, she gets a treat at that time.

mimi - thanks for making me smile today too!  I will echo beyond... you had a pickle for lunch?  Dill or sweet?

beyond -- who says dogs can't tell time?  :)  My cat finds me and stares a hole through me at the same time every day.  Time to eat.

Hun -- I had a dill pickle for lunch, along with some grape tomatoes and half a sandwich.  Believe it or not, the dill pickle really helps cut my craving for something sweet.

MimiCakes, you made me smile - that counts as one.  Elizabeth VI stopped by - she always makes me smile even if she brings her mother (hehehe).  The workmen are moving like crazy - that makes me grin.  Went for a pickle free lunch with a buddy today - he brought a variety of smiles.  Hey life is great!  In fact its a barrel of pickles.

I had the good fun of having lunch with a former coworker, and she had agreed to let me officiate at her wedding. (big grin for me)

Have fun at the zoo!  I got tickled at the time-telling cat...so that made me smile!

I had a stressful day, but I did get home before the bottom fell out of the sky and rained like crazy (by about 10 minutes)

    I had a message from a friend....

I got a nice email from a high school reunion lady, and even though I can't be there, I got to add my update of my life to their book.

I got a hug from a stranger/co-worker from another dept. I hadn't even met yet--just a "hang in there" kind of thing and a returned thanks from me for helping me get finished with paperwork and out the door at quitting time!

If I can get through tomorrow, I have Friday off....and that really makes me smile!

What made me smile today? Hmm...

The phrase "harshes up my happy" cracked me up.

Talking about random things like shoe sizes and yellow Crocs.

My flowers are surviving after their brutal setback!

My son high-fiving me and giggling his little tail off.

    This post. :)

I'm going to the beach tomorrow.

I saw the movie Horton Hears a Who today with the preschoolers and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it.

and thinking of how much fun you will have at the zoo makes me smile.

I am starting my nine day summer vacation from Sunday (tomorrow). I'll see my son and wife and then go to the mountains for five days, then see my son and wife for three days. They will move into the house then. We will live together and I will see them every day except for when I am in the mountains. That makes me smile.

I am smiling because ET rang me earlier. I am so happy to have that freedom now.

Hotaka, I am thrilled for you that you will all be together again as a family very soon.

When you go to the zoo, take care to avoid anyone from the Czech Republic, especially around the gorillas. Here's why:

One fine day, a young man from the Czech Republic named Igor went to the Bronx Zoo with his American friend, James. Standing in front of the gorilla cage, the two were astonished when both gorillas leaped over the fence and attacked them. One of the two ate Igor in a flash. Soon, the zoo police were on the scene and they asked James which of the two had eaten his friend. Was it the male or the female? James looked at the two of them and said that it must have been the female. Immediately the police got a zoo doctor to cut the female open to try to save Igor. Sadly, Igor wasn't there. James then said, "Well, I guess the Czech is in the male."

fearing -- I didn't know they made that book into a movie.  Hope you had a good day at the beach.  :)

hotcakes -- that is an awesome reason to smile.  I'm glad you'll be together now.  :)

alyss -- How wonderful that you have the freedom to talk to ET that you longed for before.  :)

newb -- They missed you!  My kitty only speaks to me when she's hungry, but it makes me smile anyway.  :)

LJ -- Nice to see you, stranger!  I reluctantly smiled at the Czech in the male.  mrMimi is Czech...  hmmmm....  ;)

My little niece, Cutie Pie made me smile tonight when she very earnestly tried to explain to her mom why she had to tinkle behind the sandbox instead of in the bathroom.    She had her fourth birthday a while back, and I asked her tonight what she knows now that she's four that she didn't know when she was three.  She said, " Well, Aunt Mimi, I know you shouldn't go into people's houses when nobody is home."  A budding cat burglar?  LOL

Ed -- I am going to see Dracula.  It is an absolutely amazing ballet.  Intense, athletic, and sexy.  I can't wait!

This makes me smile today:  Paul McCartney videos on YouTube!  The cat just walked off in a snit because of my singing.  Everybody's a critic!  LOL

1. Music. I've been listening to the Zac Brown Band all morning. Much as I think the expression is an irritating cliche, music comes perilously close to feeding my soul.

2. Thanksgiving. I love the smells...
Last night turned out to be a pretty good night. It started off rocky....
I've been computering again....
