I should really be careful what I wish for. I’m still shocked and amazed over it. It happened, but I know some people won’t believe it. No matter – here it is – and you can make up your own mind. I've filed a report with an investigative agency and I'll let them decide. I sent this on July 25, 2008 to the UFO investigative network:
"I’m an American expat living in Paris, France. I’m married and we’ve lived in Paris for several years. We live on the 4th floor in a classical French building. There are other apartment buildings across the courtyard from ours. But the building directly across ours is approximately two floors shorter. The day before yesterday, July 23, 2008, was a clear day. At about 7:00 pm, I was in the kitchen and standing over the stove making dinner. The stove is right next to a large kitchen window. From my kitchen window I have an unobstructed view of the horizon. While I was cooking I happened to glance out the window, and I saw two oval shapes moving across the sky. They were silvery white with a bluish glow and completely silent. They flew slowly at a low altitude – much lower than a plane – and maintained a formation, flying side by side the entire time. I watched them for a couple of minutes. Then my husband came into the kitchen and drew my attention away from the window. I was afraid to tell him what I’d just seen and that it was still outside our window. I don’t know why. I knew they were UFOs. But I guess I couldn’t believe it myself. When he walked out of the kitchen I turned back to the window and I could still see them. They were some distance away now and were still side by side as they slowly headed west. I watched them a little while longer. By then it had gotten darker. I felt so strange. It was as if I was walking through a dream. I wasn't frightened. I finished cooking, walked out of the kitchen and served dinner in our dining area. I finally did tell my husband about it but I’m not sure he believes me. I’m still trying to make sense of it myself. I know what I saw. But I don’t know what to do, if anything. I’m reporting it because maybe someone else who lives in my area saw them and also reported it."
Since it happened I've watched videos about sightings and watched Ed Mitchell talk about it. It was interesting to hear what he had to say about his experience with UFOs. He's a smart, mature man who is highly respected at NASA. But I also needed to tell someone who's an expert and is knowledgeable about this so I can get some ... what? feedback? advice? I'm still figuring that out. I just needed to know that others have experienced it too and can perhaps provide guidance. It's unsettling to say the least. It's changed my world view. I guess some people might think I'm whacked out or something. Well, that can't be helped. If I can't post my true experiences and feelings here - where supposedly anything goes - then I'd have no outlet at all. I keep looking up at the sky and wondering if I'll see anything else. I wonder why me - and what does this mean about the universe we live in? Who are we anyway and why are we here? How can we feel so special when other beings have technology far superior to ours? I didn't have that warm, fuzzy feeling of watching ET or anything like that. It was a frightening, awe-inspiring thing. I realized we don't really know anything about the universe we live in. We think we've got it covered - that we're so smart, so advanced. We're actually not. Our knowledge of the universe is miniscule. Ed Mitchell said he believes they're benign, that if they'd meant us harm, they could have used their superior technology against us long ago. Yet they haven't. He also said our government has already established contact with aliens and has been in contact with them for quite some time. That shocked me. But it also helped to hear him say that. Will more and more people start having encounters with aliens? Why are they contacting us now?
