For sleeping you might consider Brahams or Mozart.  I like to listen to classical cello music to relax, it's deep and mellow sounding.  I'm lucky to have a decent classical music radio station to listen to, but even then sometimes they'll play something a little too energetic for me :)

You know, Queenie, Skald would be SO good to recommend something to you.  You may want to PM her, or even browse through her old posts where people commented a lot on her music posts.

I agree with Unique...cello is soooo relaxing and the radio station can play something that will bounce you right out of a deep trance when the orchestra wakes up with a BANG!

You may want to try those soothing sounds of nature CD's.

I have a CD of Native American Indian flute and it's soooooo relaxing.

I think Mozart is good for peoples who are starting to listen to classical music and will be soothing for you. Then you can do experiments and listen to others, gradually.

    How about some Debussy?

    Or some Pachelbel?

    Some Vivaldi?

    Something more modern?
    How about Shadowfax?

    Sorry, I got carried away!

How about anything by Tchaikovsky?  Especially this one:  I may mispell here, but it is "Seranade Meloncholy" or something close to that....

I have a 5 CD set of Bach, Beetoven, Mozart, Chopin and Tchaikovsky, even though I don't listen to these as often as I meant to when I bought the set.  I have a cheap sound machine, and I only like the "ocean waves."  After I got used to it, it can be hard to go to sleep without it now!

You can see if you have a "music station" on your computer.  I have it on my Yahoo home page, and there are all types of music to listen to.

Bollywood film music is called bollywood music. Songs from Bollywood movies are generally pre-recorded by professional playback singers, with the actors then lip synching the words to the song on-screen, often while dancing....
For those of you who are not familar with Native American music, I suggest you give it a listen. The music can be very relaxing and meditative. The best Native American flute performer out there (and who I encourage you to listen to) is R. Carlos Nakai....
In 1971, when I was 11 years old, I got my first record player for Christmas.

It was a BIG deal that record player.
It could play both 78 and 45 format records (for the 45's you needed to add a little doo-hickey).

Who knew there could be such a battle over what music to listen to?...
