Who's reading the_infernal_optimist (208):
I've been thinking tonight about all of the different things I'd love to hammer home to various people if I could. So, to you who are mentioned below:

My grandfather...the embarrassment of getting fitted for a hearing aid would not even come close to measuring up to how awesome it would be to be able to hear your loved ones again. :-p

(Also, I'd drive home this heaping and unforgettable dose of love and gratitude for my life...thanks for paving the road under my feet so many times when I chose to walk where there was no path, even when it didn't match up with what you thought I should do. I have never doubted any promise or hope you gave me.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dear friend, beloved brother of my heart...this is not an abyss. It's a ditch, and you've scaled far worse before. And you are not alone. You don't have my scorn or my pity, but you do have my hand if you need it (and it's there even if you don't want it to be :-p) -- along with my thanks for your steadying presence in troubled times.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My precious children...you are always worth far more than the world will ever show you, and loved beyond all belief, no matter what happens in your lives down the road. You always have a home wherever I am, and someone who'll try to make it better, even if that process involves some tough love at times.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My pirate...you are also worth far more than you believe. And you do a much better job at the important stuff than you give yourself credit for a lot of the time. You will never be invisible again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My brother by blood...your destiny is out there somewhere. You already know part of it; it's just the reaching for that brass ring that's the tough part. It's yours if you can find the courage to try. I know you can.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To credit card companies and assorted other businesses...English-speaking customers would appreciate English-speaking customer service reps. It doesn't matter how friendly they sound if they don't understand what the hell the problem is, much less how to fix it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To whoever designs women's health clinics: It might behoove you to remember that a lot of women stare at the ceiling during various uncomfortable procedures. Put a frigging picture up there or something...better yet, mount a tv right there in the ceiling. :-D But don't show Lifetime: Television for Saps.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And to old ladies in the grocery store: Complimenting someone on their hair color is very nice. Touching/tugging on said hair...not so nice. :-p
How about you? Got anything to add?
    This was a nice post, Infernally :-) I definitely think the people you spoke of would really appreciate knowing you felt the way you do. It was very nice to read.
    I have to agree wholeheartedly on your point about the non-English speaking call center workers. Don't even get me started. Well I know it's too late since you already got an earful from me about that :-P
    I would like to add that I wish a certain person would just trust me and talk to me instead of hiding their head in the sand when things get shaky. I don't bite. And I don't judge. And I'm always there whenever they need anything.
    And to the one who person who actually sees me, I just want to say you have no idea what that means to me. And sometimes being the calming influence in the background is much more important than you think it is.
    To the designers and manufacturers of women's clothes: Just because a woman has large breasts doesn't mean she is large elsewhere throughout the torso. Can you make clothes that fit my breasts but aren't baggy elsewhere. Also, can you consider making more selections of clothing--not just pants typically--in talls for women so that I can find shirts that aren't too short. I really hate it when my tops that aren't supposed to be mid-riff baring are indeed mid-riff baring because the shirt isn't long enough.
    on the same token as womens aparel... why do these manufacturers of "plus size" womens cloths think it is so great to keep making horizontal strips on tops?  Why do you insist on making hugh ugly prints with huge ugly flowers and lots of glitter?  come on.. would you wear that in a plus size?
    infernal- Very nicely written for those you care for. And 'here here' for the English speaking reps.
    People who have left a store and are in the car leaving, please leave. This is not the time to read an article. When you have it in reverse with the backup lights on, this is not the time to discuss the meaning of life with the one next to you.
    what do i wish people would understand...
    ah yes to all my chums - who all happen to be thinner than me- scowling when your size doesnt fit and then refusing to try on the next size up witch jusyt so happens to be my size- because that means you are "fat" hurts no matter how much you say but you aren't fat!  i KNOW im not fat!  so why are you so ashamed to be like me???
    grrrrrrrrrr silly teenage girls eh?
    To those people who have not learned standing in line ettiquette.  I don't think anyone will attempt to take your place in line behind me if you stand far enough away from me that I don't have to hear you breath or sense your body heat.  It's also considered bad manners to sigh heavily, especially after that pungent meal of garlic, onions and ass.
    Yay for Zaydas comment..... may I also add...
    To bra makers all over the world.... just because I have larger breasts than the average women would it not be tooo much of a task to create affordable and PRETTY bras in anything other than an A or B cup???
    To those inconsiderate shoppers who use the QUICK check out with a god damn trolley full of groceries... it says 12 or less so that those of us who have one or two items don't have to wait for you... Geeze! use the proper check out!
    Another shopping gripe ~ To all those lazy so and so's who couldn't park their finger up their nose, the next time you leave me two inches to get in my car I am going to let your god damn tyres down! if you don't succeed at first try, try try again and consider others.
    Idiots who didn't pay attention in drivers' ed...
    It's LEGAL to turn left on red if you entered the intersection on green. (Look it up!)
    If you don't enter the intersection at all, I'm struck behind you until the end of rush hour because there isn't going to BE a break, fool!
    To my cat - I know I left the house a mess this morning, but I was in a hurry.  I just wish you could communicate with words, not your fists...
    I'm sorry, Slacks Jr.
    really have to agree on the women's health clinics point. i remember when i used to go the dentist when i was a child they had all these posters of disney characters and i loved it. i think it was in my early teens that i started to hate dentists because i never had anything to look at but a blank white wall.
    tobi-lee: actually, it does cost a lot more b/c frankly, the wires are often double the width of what's used in an average-figure bra.
    me, i'm gonna add this: if you are driving the speed limit or only a little faster, get the hell out of the way! :D
