You've heard me go on and on about the lake, but I love trees too.  This is a photo of a wooded area I've gone to over the years when I wanted to write.

In fact, when I go for my hypnotherapy sessions I have to visualize a pathway to my subconscious.  This is where my mind goes to.  I thought I would share it with you.

It's another place of serenity for me.

Just watching the photo, the thick green foliage, the path dappled with sunlight and shadow, already has a calming effect on me. I can imagine what it does to you... Thanks for sharing, my friend.

I have a few areas around here that I  treasure.  Not necessarily for writing purposes but areas I choose to hide from bill collectors and the wife at times.Regardless of what time of the year, these are the places I go to in quest to put me in that happier place I seek at times. Great post CreativeWoman thanks for sharing.

¿Ve alguna vez usted a algún bicho sasquatch allí mientras su escritura?

You know I love trees, too....and this is so beautiful.  I would love to have this place to go to every day-----and in my mind I do, just like you do when you can't be there physically.  The photo speaks volumns......the winding path of life, the quiet beauty of the inner soul....beautiful!

Today, a place like that, offering me serenity (which I truly need), would be most welcome. I can't be there but I think I can keep that image in my mind. Thanks for sharing your space.

What a stunningly peaceful place CW!!!  I can see why you go there to write.

WOW, that is a lovely place to go.  I envy you! But I am glad that you have that somewhere special that means so much to you ((((hugs))))

    moon,
It is a lovely place.  I've written a lot of poetry there.  I'm glad you felt its calming affect.

    queen,
    I'm glad.

    CayenneMan,
We all need these happy places.  I'm glad you have yours.

Pero, su es muy loco.  No sasquatch, mi amigo.  :-D

    wombat,
It is the perfect place for traveling to my subconscious.  I don't physically make it there every day, but it such a special place to me.  It's near were I grew up, about 40 miles away.  I spent many evenings and weekends there before I got married.

    woman,
I hope this helps you find that serenity you need until you find that place of your own.

    Mamie,
I am lucky to have such a place.  Thank you.

    et,
Thank you. This is part of a wildlife conservation area that is nearby my grandparents' farm they had when I was a child.

    skald,
    Thank you.

    quietone,
You're welcome.  I love going there.

    ui,
It's very peaceful.  There is also a lake there too.  So, I get to enjoy both the water and the trees.

    SensualGirl,
Thank you.  I've spent a lot of "me" time there since I was old enough to drive myself there.

Absolutely stunning.  Looks like a fairy land - can just picture pretty little fairies flitting about.  Muchas hadas bonitas!

I've tried meditating but they say you should imagine yourself in a beautiful, peaceful place.  Can never think of any, but now I can refer to your picture to center my mind (hopefully).  Thanks.

    Zaraida,
Thank you.  This image does wonders for me when I'm visualizing for my hypnosis.  I do hope you find it useful too.  I think it also helps because I have actually stood there at the beginning of that path.

CW, looks like a place I would love to go horseback riding around.
  • CreativeWoman said on Jul 23, 2008....
    Rc,
It's a great place.  You guys would love it.

    quietone,
That pathway goes all around the lake.  You get glimpses of the water as you follow the path.  It takes a long time to cover the whole thing on foot.  Sometime I'll tell you of the hike that my brother and I took there one winter.  I did one of my famous falls.  lol  You would have fun on a horse.

There was a nice trail/log road out in WA state that went around a lake that I used to walk a lot also.  I so wish I had a place like that here.  I would walk my self skinny.. yup w/o a doubt!
  • silverwhisper said on Jul 25, 2008....
CW, that place looks quite tranquil and i can see why you would go there to write--i would think that the words come easily in a place like that!

    quietone,
I think you already look wonderful in your pictures.  :-)  It is a beautiful place though.  It's good for letting your cares slip away for a while.

    Ed,
It is such a place.  I've written lots of poetry there.

it's a beautiful photograph .. I can imagine you walking down that pathway and just undressing your cares away ... What it must feel like to reach the end of the path and realize that you've made it this far without any worries or anxieties and all you have left is the presence of yourself and mother nature around you ...
  • CreativeWoman said on Aug 11, 2008....
    dazediva,
It is great for my visualizations because it already has good memories attached to it since I've actually retreated to that space before.  :-)

We have this cool tree in our front yard and I have no idea what kind of tree is. But the leaves all turned bright red, when they used to be green. It's kinda Christmasy looking....
