If the Taliban was in charge of the government in Afghanistan before the U.S. Invaded, tell me why the CNN keeps referring to them as the insurgents???

Didn't we, the U.S., overthrow the Taliban? Then who are the insurgents?

The Taliban were not recognized by the world community as a legitimate government.

In the years since the Taliban has regrouped, are attacking US and UN troops in the hopes of once again deposing the legitimate government.
Since they are fighting against the government of Afghanistan , they are insurgents.

Pakistanis are the home of the insurgents in Afghanistan and probably a good deal of them the Pakistanis themselves, or so it now appears.  Bin UnLoaded's  safe haven, I'd lay odds.
