He has the best stand-up attack in the world. No matter who you are, he's charging you and throwing punches that hurt, with accuracy and power. No matter who you are, you are afraid he's going to hit you in the face with a big shot, and he is. Lots of times.

He is one of the best groundfighters in the world. He wins championships in sambo and judo. Once he has you on the ground, there's an excellent chance that he's going to submit you.

Nobody ever hurt him. He has a granite chin. Nobody .... ever .... hurt .... him.

The only loss on his record was a short stupid fight in a Pride tournament when his opponent accidentally hit him a glancing blow in the eye with an elbow, and the fight was immediately stopped because of the cut. Note: in Pride no elbow strikes are allowed! The opponent should have been disqualified for an elbow strike, or at least it should have been called a No Contest. Fedor clearly didn't give a shit about the wound, as you can clearly see if you watch the fight on You Tube.

He has excellent defense, both on the ground and on his feet, mostly due to the old adage that the best defense is a good offense. I never saw him fight defensively. He's the 600 pound gorilla in the room so he doesn't fight defensively. And he only weighs about 230.

There may be some better groundfighters in the world. Maybe Minotauro Nogueira, the big one. Maybe Babyface Josh Barnett. Maybe B.J. Penn. Maybe not. Maybe Fedor is a better groundfighter than all of them. The only fighter who struck me as being for sure a more dangerous ground fighter than Fedor was Rickson Gracie, and he's about 50 now so forget it. He's much too old to beat Fedor, though his vanity won't let him admit that to himself. I suppose he knows it, at least subconsciously, because he sure ain't fighting him, and if he thought he could still beat him, I think he'd try.

So in summary, Fedor is the best stand-up MMA fighter in the world, he's on the short list for being the best ground fighter in the world, his defense is great because he never needs it, and he never gets hurt. That's why he is the best fighter who ever lived. Please don't start telling me about Spider Silva. Spider is great too but he is DEFINITELY not in Fedor's class, one on one or even pound for pound.

The pound for pound ratings should go like this: 1. Fedor Emelianenko, 2. Fedor Emelianenko, 3. B.J. Penn, 4. Anderson Silva, 5. Georges St. Pierre, 6. Urijah Faber. Nobody else belongs on the list. I'd take Penn over Spider because Penn's losses were almost entirely due to the fact that he was way above his natural weight class, and Spider lost in his own weight class a few times. Also, Penn beat the crap out of Matt Hughes twice (gassing out one of those times because the lazy ass didn't train cardio), and Hughes is way bigger than Penn, and Hughes has a lot more standing in the sport than fuckin James Irvin, so Spider has yet to show that he can destroy a champion in a higher weight class. For Spider to be higher on the P4P list he'd have to win the 205 pound title.

The scheduled fights for UFC 93...
just stuff...
An old video of the greatest grappler who ever lived....
It's really a shame that Fedor might get beaten up by some big prick on steroids....
My expectations for the Nov 15 fight for UFC supremacy, for the honor of being called the second best heavyweight in the world behind Fedor....
