I'M 27 AND I'M A VIRGIN. MOST PEOPLE I TELL THIS LOOK AT ME LIKE I HAVE 3 HEADS. THE QUESTIONS I GET: "WHY ARE YOU STILL A VIRGIN?" "R U A LESBIAN?" "ARE A FOR REAL VIRGIN OR A TECHNICAL VIRGIN?" AND MY PERSONAL FAVE: "THEY STILL MAKE THOSE????????" I CAN ADD A NEW TITLE. I'M 27. I'M A VIRGIN. I'M NEWLY SINGLE. MY BOYFRIEND OR SHOULD I SAY EX OF MORE THAN 3 YEARS DUMPED ME BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE. IN OTHER WORDS, HE WANTED TO SCREW OTHER PEOPLE. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN UPFRONT ABOUT MY VIRGINITY WITH ANYBODY I DATE. MOST GUYS JUST SMILE AND SAY, "OKAY"...THEN THE PHONE CALLS STOP AND THE EXCUSES START. AND AMAZINGLY THEY ALWAYS START OFF AS..."IT'S NOT YOU...IT'S ME. YOU'RE A GREAT GIRL, ROCQI BUT...." USUALLY I GET OVER IT PRETTY QUICKLY. THIS TIME AROUND, I GOTTA ADMIT...IT HURTS. THERE WERE SIGNS. THE STARING AT OTHER WOMEN...THE CASUAL HINTS AT THEIR SEXUALITY...PERHAPS THE BIGGEST HINT WAS THE COMMENTS HE'D MAKE LIKE, "I'D NEVER CHEAT ON YOU ROCQI. IT'S HARD (i'm sure he was referring to something else) BUT I'D NEVER CHEAT ON YOU". AND FOR THE RECORD HE DIDN'T. HE JUST DUMPED ME FIRST SO HE COULD SCREW HIS BRAINS OUT WITH ANY WOMAN WILLING TO GIVE HIM SOME.

HERE I AM AGAIN. ALONE. SINGLE. BITTER. MY FRIEND SASHA AND MY COUSIN KELLIE ARE DRAGGING ME OUT TO A CLUB OF ALL PLACES TONIGHT. PERFECT PLACE FOR A VIRGIN...THE CLUB OR AS I LIKE TO CALL IT...DICK CENTRAL. BIG DICKS, LITTLE DICKS, DICKS WHO HAVEN'T ANY IN A WHILE, MARRIED DICKS, ETC...ALL IN SEARCH OF FOR ANY AVAILABLE AND WILLING PIECE OF PUSSY THERE. I'VE BEEN TO DICK CENTRAL ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT MY KITTY CAN'T COME OUT OF THE GATE. OH NOOOOO, THEY USUALLY START OFF WITH THE TYPICAL FREE DRINK (9 times out of 10 it's cheap anyway)...THE TYPICAL SCRIPTS OF BAD PICKUP LINES...THEN THEY GET DOWN TO BUSINESS. THE TRUE MOTIVES BECOME APPARENT. SO WHY AM I GOING? I HAVEN'T FIGURED THAT OUT YET BUT I HAVE A FEELING I'LL HAVE MY ANSWER AFTER TONIGHT....

Well you are a freak to be a 27 year old virgin.  You mus tbe something special that you kept a man for three years without giving it up.  Also using all caps is bad form.

My best friend is 35 and a virgin.  Not by choice, though.

I'm guessing disability of some kind?

I don't think you are going to find your guy at Dick Central. It seems like a waste to go. Well, unless you like the attention.

    27 and a virgin:

It says to me that you have strong morals. You care enough about yourself to protect it. That you are waiting for the right person to share that moment with. I admire that.

nothing wrong with it at all. I agree with vacant.

I dunno there is a reason why movies are made about older virgins.  You simply can't relate to people your own age after a poit because your experiences are so disimilar.

Not to mention you guys are basically buying into the myth that there is something inherently good about being a virgin.
  • brit said on Jul 20, 2008....

Sean, but is there really something inherently bad about being a virgin? I guess I haven't thought about it being either good or bad.

  • SeanRenaud said on Jul 20, 2008....
It's neither good nor bad.  However humans are social beasts, we relate to each other because of a number of things.  It's like saying that not knowing who Magic Johnson is, or never having eaten fried chicken.  Or never having drank alcohol.  It simply limits the ways in which you can interact with your peers.

    Double post.  Stupid SC.

There is a lot to be said for being your own person and not following the crowd for the sake of following the crowd, but if you stray to far from the pack you're kinda doomed to be on your own and very few people want that.
  • brit said on Jul 20, 2008....

Sean, I understand that. I do see how it can limit a person from completely relating to another person. I guess the way I've thought of it is that it shouldn't really matter whether someone is a virgin or not. There's other things that people can make connections on with each other. It just seems like people make a really big deal out of it, and I suppose I don't see the point in that.

It's true that marching to the beat of your own drum can make you stand out from the crowd. I guess being lonely or alone is a sacrifice people make when they lead the life they choose to lead.
