I've written a fair amount about what I'm NOT putting in my body: sugar, trans fat, starch, but very little about what I *DO* eat.

Let's go over my diet this week to get in the head of a dyingman who's looking to put off meeting the grim reaper a little longer than most folks.  (Sorry about the formatting.  It looked good in the table I made.)

    i'm thinking you really might be a health nut.
     
    and i cannot believe that those canned veggies you eat are so many calories....400 calories for black beans and 300 for red.  that seems like alot for a can of beans!
     
    hope you're having a good summer.
    you need to add ice cream once a week to your diet in summer, and maybe an ear of corn on the cob or a slice of watermelon.  watermelon is very low in calories!

    Watermelon is actually back on my menu.  I tended to think of it as sugar water, but it has substantial amounts of lycopenes; the good stuff nutritionists praised tomatoes for.

    Ice cream is a regular.  This was an unusual week that I didn't eat any.  I had it twice the week before.  I've mastered making Flurries at home with KitKat candy bars and chopped almonds.  If ever my wife had thoughts of leaving me, all I have to do is serve up one of those.  I take two heaping teaspoons of the stuff (ice cream heaps high) and indulge with her.  My pre-diabetes problem and that nasty little problem I've mentioned in the past are a serious deterrent to taking more.

    If you're interested:

    Get out one bowl and two spoons.

    Add together in a separate mixing bowl:
    2 Kit Kat strips (4 in a bar) chopped into cubes with a fork and halved after that.
    1 oz of roasted almonds chopped.
    Enough chocolate syrup to just coat 5 scoops of ice cream (use your imagination)

    Add ice cream last (you don't want it to melt any more than necessary while you prep the other ingredients)
    4 scoops coffee  (we used Breyer's)
    1 scoop vanilla (we used Edy's)  This adds creaminess as Breyer's is a lighter ice cream.

    Mash it together quickly with the fork you used to cube the KitKat.

    Scoop a serving into the bowl with the fork or a spoon.

    Lick the fork clean.

    Grab the second spoon.  The mixing bowl is yours.
    (I'm lazy about doing dishes.)

    Serves 2, or 1 woman with PMS.
