... that they'll let anybody in anywhere these days.

mrMimi and I went to a concert last night.  Crosby, Stills, and Nash.  Nothing like being with a bunch of old hippies to get the blood moving.

Picture this:  A hot, humid summer night, surrounded by oh, probably 3000 of your closest friends.  The air redolent with the sweet unmistakable scent of ... weed.  It's been many years, but I still remember that smell very well.  By God, we were all transported back to the sixties, singing anti-war songs.  Our own mini-Woodstock, only with concession stands, and padded seats.  It was awesome.

Besides that, B and I got our picture on the local newspaper's website.  Yes, I'll give you the link.  Go here.  We're photo 51 out of 172.

bwahahahaaaaa! That is hysterical! Old habits die hard apparently for some!

You look so happy and even good ole B has a smile on his face! It makes me glad that you are a rocker at heart, me too! I think the last time I had their music on, tears came to my eyes at the beauty of their harmonies...so do they still "got it"??

    greetings up there, jessi!

Jess, oh, me too!  I swear I wish I'd had some tie-dyed shirts and some love beads, because I would have worn them.

Mame, their harmony, while showing signs of age (unfortunately we're all older), is still amazing.  I just closed my eyes and savored it.

Hiya's Mamie !  She's just rubbing it in our noses ya know ....hehe

(seems her nose enjoyed the moments as well....hehe)

What a summers memory of 2008 eh ?

Maybe....just maybe...we can have a revival of long hairs, the tee's and protest...damn we could use some of the energies of the 60's and 70's about now !

Best wishes gals...sincerely ....looking at some of that crowd showed me the movement isn't dead....just awaiting the right moments to begin anew.

You both look like you're "in the zone" and in your element as well.  I'm so jealous!!  That had to be the most awesome concert.  They're music is a little before my time, but I just love their harmonies.  The music was/is heartfelt.

You look so happy MissM!!!  Glad you had such a good time.   I grinned from ear to ear reading this and then I laughed over the part about the weed.  lol!  Nobody threw their underwear on stage did they?

Ya know Mimi...you could.....if you were to get another piece of that clear tubing....cut the hose leading to your nose and insert a Y - type connector, then run another extension off the Y into the shotgun hole of a bong....let someone else hit and fill the blog and then sit back and let the oxygen slowly feed it into your lungs...ahhhhhh

    Just a thought....hehe

Slowly that's the way ta go....nice and mello like ; )

By the way...its good to see your face with a smile, its the first pic I've seen of you and you look like a really fun person to know.

    Jess.

uni -- we might've been in the Twilight Zone...  Alot of the concert goers were my age or older but some were younger.  Of course, the guys onstage are moving some slower too.  David Crosby looks like a very mellow Santa Claus.

Fearless -- LOL  no, darn it, no underwear-tossing.  I brought some extras too, to use as tarps in case it rained.  ;)

Jess, I'm pretty loopy even without chemical aids...  LOL  But I went to college with a few guys who would've loved the idea!  And thanks for the nice compliment.  :)

Mimikins: Next time you need some tie-dye t-shirts, yell at me. I've got a couple for you. :P Hmmmm....and I know just where to get you some love beads. :)

Mimi.....you certainly do look happy.  Glad you had a fun time.  I haven't been to a concert in years.  My last one was with mamie girl. They do have a way of making you feel young again in some ways....even if the performers have wrinkles and are moving slower.  But then wait......that must mean I have wrinkles and am moving slower too....lol.
Nice to hear you had a fun night!

Glad you had a good time, Meems!
  • hotaka said on Jul 19, 2008....
Wow! Many of those people looked like they were at the concert by the permission of their care home nurses! Just kidding. No doubt it was a blast.

Weed. I don't go to concerts much but I know the scent. I guess all those geriatric hippies were toking back to the old days or was it their grandkids who had brought it along?

    Again, joking. Joking!

Today is the day!...
Until we meet again........
I was wrong....
Just a lot of rambling thoughts about what's been on my mind....plus why I'm not jealous of John Mayer.......
Today I did something that in the scheme of things is hardly worth mentioning. But I consider it a small victory of sorts....
