Today the air is moist and thick
Heavy, like a great big brick

It's going to be really hot
I wish it would rather not

But from the window I see
A ripe tomato peeking at me

That makes me smile
I've been waiting for a while

There will be okra and cucumbers too
Out there hiding in the morning dew

The coming rain does not help my mood
But it sure is making a bounty of food

So I will be thankful for abundance today
And hope that the rain has a brief stay

    good morning my friend,
and I hope you are well.
I enjoyed your poem, I think
    it is swell!
I find that the thunder and rain
    tends to be
    a reminder of showering graces
    for thee
    So batten the hatches and
    hunker on down
to relax and enjoy the rain pouring down
remember the okra and flowers will smile
to be cleansed by the dewdrops
    and refresh for a while
and you, in your office will not miss a beat
on all of your blogs, both soulcast and sweet!
    have a great day! mamie

    Mamie,
    You are so kind
    To respond in rhyme

Reminding me not to be a dope
Because with rain there is always hope

For rebirth of of many things
And the abundance that always brings

    Mimi,

    I'm glad you like
    My little poetic hikes

    Maybe I'll just continue
    At this little venue

    Wombat,

    You always have a seat
    At this place we meet

It's so very nice to know
You liked my rhyme of where things grow

(Thank you all for having some fun with me.)

Very nice, CW. You made me smile, though the heavy humidity and hot weather here are among my most disliked things about living in this part of Japan. But that's summer here. You poem is very simple and sweet. I liked it very much. I am glad you stopped by my post because I clicked on your name by your comment to see what you were up to and I found this little gem. I hope you have a great weekend!
