  Any major collective has names that they call themselves (and sometimes that select other groups call us) that are at the very least frowned on when other people use them. 
   
  It's the equivalent of how I'm sure you have a friend who quite often calls you a bitch or some other rude term that you wouldn't take from some random joe on the street.

  Black History month is kind of a sham, I'll grant you that I'm sure there are streets named after Reds though and they do show the struggle.  The Trail of Tears is well documented and covered in our schools.  I would argue that General Custards famous last stand is as well known as any black rights leader without a holiday dedicated to them.  French Indian War also and that's just grade school crap.

  Honestly women who feel degraded by me (for the most part) have low self esteem and nothing ultimately it has nothing to do with me.  If you look at my writing it's not like I don't talk about people who believe in religion as idiots who follow fairy tales.  I don't hesitate to call any idiot and idiot.  The reality is that I'm truly equal opportunity instead of elevating women above me like most of society and thus I come across as hating which is fine.
   
  There is still a lot of social injustice and catching up to be done before blacks are truly equal.  Whining is stupid no matter what though. 
   
  White trash is actually a good example, white trash can call each other white trash and nobody gets offended but if your not white trash, hillbilly or a redneck those terms become offense.  Same goes for wetback or beaner when it comes to hispanics.  The only reason this is an issue is because black culture is disportionately displayed in our media.

  If life in America is so bad in one particular section of the nation, get off your asses and move to better views, ya know ?  That's part of a free society.  Some may well say I can not afford to move.....but while that may be true, saving a lil here and there  (unlike saving for home purchase)  you can get a u-Haul and go, or travel lite and take a damned bus if necessary, but get out of the rut and back to living.
  
  Damn, if we are ever visited by aliens from beyond the scope of human understanding, I am sure someone (w/ many followers) will make a social issue of their existence as well here.
  
  The N word will be here when we have long gone and turned to dust and its a senseless issue unless you can profit from it's usage as many have and will continue to as well.
  
  It's all Bullshit and most Americans understand that today, even those its aimed at.

  As to Obama, he is a user, nothing more or less.  He plays the game well enough to be paid for it, but lets face it, calling him the N word is an insult to all the really intended victims its normally directed to.  IMO, Obama will hurt and hinder social reconciliation not advance it, and I fully understand why many Blacks say he isn't Black enough.  He can not relate to the welfare Mother bring up a Paso of children, nor the Mother visiting a son in prison each weekend.  Obama is a sham  and nothing less imo as well.
  
  I am a democrat, but I won't vote for him because I believe him no less an elitist than Kerry, Bush, Gore , Clintons and the like.   None of them ever worried over a utility bill or the recent craze to which they could afford to flaunt.  The best always and never a worry except for  being found out and revealed as social elitist and as uncaring as the gas man at  the dog pound beyond a doubt.
  
  It's disgusting to cheer these demigods and I have no intention of playing this race card antics to elect our next president.  In fact, it's part of why I believe he will loose in the long run, he's inconsistent and as false as the faces at your door on Halloween, imo.

  I'm going to vote for him, but really I'm voting against McCain.  I like Obama on a lot of issues, most of what I disagree with him I don't think is a threat (I wish Ron Paul had won for the Republicans)

  The  "n" word is most offensive because it's been given that power, it's a word.  There's a whole list of them (as pointed out in Clerks 2) and I bet you that the majority of blacks in this country wouldn't even know they are supposed to be offended if they were called a spade.  (Personally I nearly made my handle Ace of Spades cus it's undercover racist and I think it sounds cool)

  I've heard of "calling a spade a spade" and it never made much sense that that referred to cards.

  Well traditionally black is bad it's the color of death and it's accepted nearly universally (even in African religion the color black is often attributed to death evil.)  Certain Asian cultures stand nearly unique with white as their color of death.  Black being evil comes from more than just skin tones, it comes from the night and our ancestors being hunted and killed by beasts that took us in the night.  It's the color fire leaves behind when its done. 
   
  Maybe a bigger problem is that individuals of African decent have been labeled black despite being brown (though to be fair there are some guys where it's hard to tell)
   
  I don't think it holds a quarter of the power it held a hundred years ago.  Outside the minds of Jesse Jackson and Al (to borrow an insult) "not so" Sharpton I doubt it has the same power that it held even twenty years ago.
   
  I do think that the PC gene runs a bit strong in you though.
