Should Planned Parenthood use their profits to provide abortions to women who can’t afford them, instead of tax dollars paying for them?
On Wednesday, July 9, 2008 several U.S. representatives called for taking away federal funds from Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States and is suppose to operate as a non-profit business. “According to Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report, the abortion business posted total revenues of $1,017,900,000 – over one billion dollars. Nearly one third of that, $336.7 million, came from “government grants and contracts” (http://www.lifenews.com/nat4037.htmlhttp://www.lifenews.com/nat4037.html)
Since Planned Parenthood is operating as a for-profit business it should not be receiving government funds. The IRS should do an investigation regarding its non-profit status. Most importantly this abortion business, who claims to care about women, should use its profits for women who cannot afford them instead of tax dollars paying for them.
