  I would go to my friend.  I would hope my SO would be compassionate enough to understand why I needed to go to her.  I'd never be able to enjoy a romantic evening if I knew that a close friend was in such distress and I did nothing to help.

  mimi~  me either, though there was many occasions.. (not as drastic as affairs)  when my friends needed me...  and my ex made my life hell for running straight to them.. he even kicked off because my best friends wedding was on our anniversary..  because I was bridesmaid, I was at the top table..he wasnt..(for like an hour to eat a meal out of a whole day and night together..and no kids!!!)
