I'll call her grandma D. She is my husband's grandmother and a wonderful lady. She married a funny but lovely man named Grandpa Bob D. But this is about Grandma D,lover of Martha Stewart and very much like her in every right. She is the hostest with the mostest. A real LADY with lots of style and class. She makes everyone feel at home and it's hard not to feel at home with her around. She makes most things from scratch and by hand.

She would pay gladly for all our mistakes if it made our worlds a better place as her heart and her love for her family is just that big. I feel blessed and lucky to have her as part of my family and as the great grandma to my children. Her down home ways and her values are the greatest of assets to my boys and the break they need from our home life. In some ways she reminds me of my own grandma who is dearly departed. We Love you Grandma D. She is the greatest, my mother in-law's mother, and taught her alot of what she knows. And there is not a meal,a pie,a cake,or a heart that she doesn't touch and turns to gold:~)

She made Chicken and sliders,2 different salads,2 dressings from scratch. Meat so good it was falling off the bone. She made these hot peppers with cheese and the other wrapped with bacon and oh my lord were they hot and spicy but good. Banana and Velvet cake from sratch. Corn, biscuits, homemade icetea. Since were visiting out here I was remembering our 1st trip out here and other ones after that. I was remembering how much she did for us when we 1st got married and how much when my youngest was born. That 1st yr he wanted for nothing btwn both families actually. But grandma brought the crib and the car seat. My family chipped in on whatever was left.

She knitted Joey an Elmo shirt when she heard he liked Elmo. We still have that sweater too. And there are like other Family things where I see she just makes everyone pull up by the boot straps,no excuses and she helps you do what you have to do. She's just an awesome lady all around and I wanted to share it with others.
My father inlaws mom was pretty awesome too. But she is no longer with us she is dearly departed. But Grandma R was sorta like Grandma D. Now Grandpa D I've gotta blog about sometime soon. But that would be a humor fest.

I'd like to agree with everybody else who commented on this blog.  I think it's an amazing tribute.  Too often, people wait till somebody passes to say something wonderful about the life of somebody significant.  I think it's absolutely great that you shared this with us about your Grandma D.  It's truly inspiring.  She's not just an ideal grandma, but the ideal person I think we all wish to be.
