"the benefits of Not Mowing the Grass!".
When I got up this morning, the power was back on. I blew out the candle that I had left burning in the bathroom, put water in the fishtank waterfall filter (it was grinding like a machine... it loses it's prime in poweroutages) and plugged the phone lines, and computer powerbar back in. I thought about whether I have a surge control on the washing machine - but realized that there could not have been too much of any surges, if the fish tank had restarted: because there is a power surge control on that: and they remain off until you click the button.. so, that was good to know.
I got a better look at the tree that has fallen on the shed out back: but have not determined where it broke off from: cannot see the stub from here... it will take a venture through the deer flies to determine that...
and the back yard, (front yard too) is just so, so - s - o - o - beautiful: they are filled with Indian Paintbrushes: yellow and orange: which have grown Exceptionally Tall this year; and Daisies: almost like snow... and there are hot pink flowers of several varieties, as well as a plethora of finnish purple/pink/white flower towers (can not remember the name of them at minute).
And I took a nice long walk on the "man road" last night: and there are many wild day-lillies growing in the ditches. Bright/Brillian Orange. as well as wild pink roses, daisies, paint brushes, orchids,(these are really teensy here).. and other white flowers for which I have no names.Oh, and there are yellow lillies too. the flowers are about.. 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch each/ 3 to 5 on the single stem.with 2 big shiny leaves at base.
and I found a trillium plant: but it has not flowered yet (perhaps too young).. and that is in the woods. not in the ditch.
I call this: (the flowers in the yard etc..) "the benefits of Not Mowing the Grass!".
