  It's less entertaining when it's a friend.  He probably was, most people aren't quite cruel enough to say things within ear shot if they think you understand what's being said.  (which is part of my problem with a lot of hispanics becaue they have no problem chattering on in Spanish while in the room with me but that's another issue.)

  if he upset you that much by one word, qpdoll, then he accomplished his goal. what, you want everyone to like you? not gonna happen. sure, what he did was rude and uncalled for, you're not fat. but for you to be upset about it for more than 5 seconds gives his words power over you, which gives him power over you. his opinion changes your mood. i don't think that's how you want to be.

  Because they are just that Queenie: Assholes. My husband told me the other day that I was getting fat. Then he starts to go on about my belly getting puggy. I think it's a thing with men. They aren't self confident or even when they are they have to knock us down to either get a rise out of us which somehow enflates their ego,or makes them feel better.
   
  Don't let that jerk ruin your day. Next time tell him:"I know you want me but I don't do assholes." Smile the biggest smile and walk away. Put him on ignore and he'll be so steamed he won't dare say anything stupid again to the next person. Or you should have stiffed him on the fare.(I'm bad aren't I Queen?:~)

  Hey, queenie: is it not amazing how deeply we can be hurt by such an arrogant and selfish act of unkindness.  It just shows how deeply honest, sincere, open, and loving we are in our own beings: because we are shocked by this kind of stupid behavior.  It is sort of like. . if a dog walked up and peeed on your leg: you know?  totally aberant and out of usual kind!  I think you did the best thing possible in the moment:  you gave him a rebuke he could understand.  next best to kicking.  and you did not endanger yourself at the moment so much either.  I am glad you are feeling better, and had the place to vent.  and I hope things go well with the doctor's / ovaries...

  I know the feeling. Those assholes are usually insecure and try to get back by being mean to others...misery loves company...some sort of weirdness that if they make one more person feel miserable they've accomplished their life goals.

  My point exactly.  There is no way that bear is more afraid of you than you are of it.  Same thing here, the idea that everybody or even the majority of people who call you an idiot/fat/ugly  whatever suffer from low self-esteem has little basis in reality.  Most of them are narcissistic and believe strongly that they are better than you.  And yea some of it is funny specially when its something the person could easily have fixed like a really stupid hair do

  Being rude is one thing and asshole another....he didn't have the nerve to say that to your face so that makes him an asshole first and assholes are always rude.

  thanks for the comments guys. i'm over it now. looking back that asshole was just probably insecure of his appearance that's why he called me "fattie" i mean he's not that good looking or something. and yes he's really an asshole because he said it behind my back. too bad for him i heard. it's okay being a fattie... at least i'm cute! thanks for the comments guys i hope no fight might be brewing because of this post.... =)

     queenparanoia I hope you feel better soon, pay that guy no mind , ignore him , don't make things worse by behaving like him. By simply paying him no mind and ignoring him it will really piss him off more.
     And you have to remember there are alot of birds flying over his head waiting to get their chance and it will happen and life will go on.
