This is nothing like Sesame Street. I've been fighting with the "m" key on my laptop today.  Shadow, the kitten, decided he wanted to chase my fingers around the laptop this morning.  He must have been trying to type "meow" because he got stuck.  When I got him free, the "m" came with him.

He's so cute that I have to close my eyes to scold him.  :-)  He went back outside and I've been trying to figure this thing out off and on all day.  It popped apart in three different places and it didn't break. I think I have it back together, but I can't get it to reattach to the computer. It's just sitting there, but sorta kinda letting me type at normal speed.

I know I need a better solution.  It's probably something very simple like me not pressing it hard enough to get it back on.  I'm afraid of breaking it.  Perhaps with a little use I'll touch it just right and it will miraculously be fixed.  :-)

I've tried googling  to find a diagram or something, but I'm not having any luck so far.  I would think that might be a fairly common thing.  I might be too frustrated to get the phrasing right.

One thig is for sure.  Shadow's typing days are over.  I'll hit the drawing board again when I get back from my nephew's ballgame tonight.

LOL darn kitty!  I suppose if things get desperate you could call customer service for your laptop's manufacturer.  Tell kitty to get her own computer cause she's too hard on yours.

Kind of reminds me of how the Lucy Maude Montgomery started originally wrote Anne of Green Gables on a typewriter with no "m" key, and yet two of the main characters were named Matthew and Marilla!  (the bachelor brother and spinster sister who adopt Anne to help them on their farm, so sort of the "parents" of the story)

Sort of makes it difficult to write such phrases as:

    meandering minstrels meddling maliciously
     or
    momma's mammory mounds

Not that I don't love ya, but how did you type the "M's" in this post?  I _issed something there. Ha...  That is so sweet that you had trouble scolding your cat!  But then, they don't get it anyway....

I just "woke up."  I guess you have a laptop and a computer!  Duh!

My cat is jealous of my laptop being in my lap and will sit beside me and cry until I put it up so she can sit on my lap.. cats are funny aren't they~ Hope you get your "m" to stick!

This sounds like a monumental mess! Meanwhile, maybe make martinis.

    UI,
I guess I could do that.  I was hoping not to have to though.  Thanks.  Shadow's typing days are over.  :-)

    nytquill,
I didn't know that bit of trivia.  Thanks.

    soaring,
Well, it has been a pain.  I've been finding ways to circumvent a lot of the "m" words.

    wombat,
I just have the laptop.  I have the "m" back on, but it's not very secure.  I wont' be able to move it from my desk without losing with it like this.  When I'm less frustrated, I will work on snapping it on again.  I'm afraid of breaking it.

    quietone,
My little Shadow wanted play.  He thinks my fingers are fair game for pouncing.  He was sitting on my desk and then got rambunctious.

    woman,
    mmmm, mixed drinks  :-)

    Ed,
I have the "m" key working, but it isn't secure.  I need to see if I can figure out how to snap it on tightly.  At least, I can still type.
