There were some pigeons that used to visit us and beg for food. They are different from our pigeons and you can hear them all day in the islands.

In this house we found a good co op and after that we did our shopping there. There were some small shops nearer to us but here we got a very good one. I even cooked once or twice but we had a gas stow and I had never used one in my life before.

Walking to the beach.

On our walk to the beach I saw this.

Two hours the kids and I played there and I swam too. Pálmi just sat on the beach. He did not want to get in. The ship behind us Fred Olsen is the ferry that took us to the next island two days earlier.

When we got out of the sea we were full of sand and we could not get it off. Home we walked to have a bath and change cloths. I thought we would never get the sand out of the cloths. This was really messy. We had a little rest and out we went.

We did really have a feast in Little Italy this time. What a nice restaurants and it was near to us. There were other restaurants in the same chain but none of them as nice as this one.

Again on the veranda giving the pigeons something to eat.

Looks very relaxing.  The kids looked like they were having fun at the beach.  Something about sunshine, sand and children. :)

ah, what a nice place to be skald, it all looks so wonderful, and relaxing.  The kids sure do look like they enjoyed the water and sand.

Soaring.  We did not have all that many lazy days with our kids at the shore, living in a cold country and we did only take them twice abroad, then to Berlin when they were 9 and 12 and then 11 and 14 so this is new for us. Thanks Soaring.

the pictures are lovely as always, makes me feel I am right there with y'all. Gas stoves can be a little tricky if you aren't used to them, because they cook just a little different. Whenever I use one, I make sure to monitor the flame because it is so easy to get it too high, and then the food cooks faster than I want it to. Glad you had a good time!

Cry.  This is just what I did. I had the flame low. Thanks Cry.

Love the tree photo!  Such color!  And I would love to sit on that beach, especially to watch the ships!  What a lovely place!

When we moved here, I would not have the gas stove--so we swapped around with someone---anyway to make a long story short, we had the company come out and remove the gas tank. Found out later that our water heater needed the gas tank!  But I don't like anything that is gas and has to be lit by a flame!

Thanks for sharing your trip pictures!

Wombie.  You are so right about not wanting that. I don't either but some young people like to buy gas stoves now. They have to buy the gas tanks with them. When I was little a gas station was still here but not long because every one then preferred electricity. Thanks Wombie.

i just got my first gas stove 2 summers ago, and i have to say I LOVE IT!!!!
it did take some getting used to, but i think there's so much more control with gas.

we go to the beach here for summer vacation every year since my children were babies, and that sand looks awfully like the sand at our beach....i have to say it does get everywhere!  we have an outside shower at our beach place so that at least the top layer of sand can be washed off before we go inside.  but oh how i remember the piles of sand in the bathtub after they washed!

Skald.........in Italy i always used gas for cooking .....when i moved here in the States i used for the first time an electric stove.... but i gotta tell you.....i prefer the gas one....like Secret said... there is so much more control over the cooking process...
My dream is having one of those Viking gas stove you see in those food competitions....ahhh.......

Back to Tenerife......nice pics .....and the sand and the shore and the kids playing.......just vacation as it is supposed to be......i do remember having end up thousand of times with my bikini heavy for the pounds of sand in it...lol......

You look very relaxed and happy ......;-)

Secret.  Yes, I bet it takes time getting used to gas cooking. I used to see how it was done when I was in England in my 20´s but I never cooked my self.

There were showers on this beach but we did not see them and we did everything wrong as we had our bath cloths under the cloths. We did not do it the next time. There were piles of sand in the bathtub too and on the floor. No good broom there. I did give the cleaning woman extra money twice.
Pickers.  I do hope  you will have one.
Ginger.  Always good to see you. The real sand on Tenefife is like here, black. They import the white sand from Africa. Next time we went we did all differently and it went better. We could even go straight to a restaurant.
Hope you get that stove. Sounds great. I guess I prefer the old electric  one.
I know what you mean having the bikini heavy of sand. It gets into the delicate places. I think we were happy there. Yes, Thanks.
    Serious  Thanks

Skald, that looks like a perfect day!  To see the sun streaming down and the kids look so content just to cover themselves in sand. . .what fun!  Its great to hear that you found a lovely restaurant, when one goes out to eat you want to have a good experience :-)  What a lovely post!

    Lots of love

Polar.  Thanks I think all the restaurants we went to were good. Except nonce we got tough meat. This was still far the nicest I think. The day was perfect and so were all the others there.

I demand to know how it got here so fast, lol....
What is the cure for a loss of appetite? Recently, I cannot seem to eat much food, nor do I have the desire to eat. I am not sure why exactly, but I have experienced this in the past and have no idea how I got back to eating....
A few things I'm struggling with....
....its starting to look like that is not in the stars for me....
