We are back into the routine of reading and math everyday. Dasha only has to do the math part and she plays while Olia does her reading time with me. After they finished their sessions, they wanted to play video games or watch TV. My answer was "No, go play!" Olia kept saying, what are we supposed to do then? I told her to figure something out that did NOT involve TV or video games. I suggested that they play hopscotch so they went outside with chalk and made a large hopscotch board on the patio. Olia drew the Russian version with a big sun at the top!
Last night, Dan took the girls bowling and they both had a lot of fun! Before they left, I suggested that they take jackets or sweaters because bowling alleys tend to be chilly with the air conditioning on. Olia said that Dasha complained that the summer jacket she was given was too big. Olia came down to me and said, I am trying to tell her that my closet is not a shopping mall, some things are a little small and some things are perfect and some are a little big. Olia always lets Dasha pick what she wants to wear first.
Olia spent two sessions on the "chair" yesterday for being fresh and talking back to me. I want to nip that in the bud immediately! Dasha wanted to sit in the room with her, but I wouldn't allow her to do that. We have to go back to the dentist today because Dasha has another appointment to get her cavities filled. I was going to bake cookies with the girls, but I think I'll wait until the end of the week.
