My granddaughter wants me to sign up on myspace in addition to SC.  She has been signed up there for a little over a year now, and rusty has a myspace account too, but he doesn't even check his.  My granddaughter is on hers all the time.

So, what do you think of Myspace?...

Oh, I forgot why she said I should sign up on myspace.  She says since I like posting pictures, I would fit right in on myspace.

I signed up for myspace about two years ago, and never did a thing with it.  I don't even remember my screen name and password.  I tend to think it's a site for young people primarily.  No offense to your granddaughter, Dee, but I don't have a very high opinon of it.

MissMimi---I know we here a lot of negative about that site, but I wonder if that is because they have so many members, that it is bound to have more incidents. Anyone who targets young people, will go to where more young people are more apt to blog.

mmm i dont think i have anything against myspace..you do get problems there, but you get them on every community site..
as for myself using it..i did make myself one on request of a few friends..however i hardly ever use it simply because my friends here dont use it at all..so i only have a few ppl i know from the states who use it..ive found it to be more of an american thing..at least fro where i live..
if you do decide to get a myspace though let me know ill add you =)

I gave in about a year ago and created an account.
Mainly because I was missing some old friends.  I felt like I was the ONLY person on earth without a MySpace.  I keep my profile private and I make it difficult for people to request to add me to their friends list by not putting in my real last name (they have to answer a question asking what my last name is to send a friend request).  I'm usually only found through other friends pages and I can be sent a message if they want to say "hi" or something.

I'm actually glad I set up an account there.  So many old friends from all over have been in contact and I'm happy to be able to see where they are now with getting married and having children, etc.

daily-----I know so many people on myspace, it would be worth signing up for.

I have a MySpace account because my old high school used to have a website and the woman in charge of it moved it to MySpace.  I have a whopping three friends, and I don't spend much time there.  My profile's private, anyway, because I have pics of my family on it.

I've considered creating a second MySpace account for my online friends, but I obviously haven't done that yet.

Elian----hers is private too, I think that is why she wants me to sign up, so I can join her friend's list.

I have a MySpace account but like MissM, I don't remember my name or password since it was a looooong time ago that I signed up.  I didn't like it but my opinion is limited as I used it for a total of 3 or 4 months.  In the beginning, it was like email but with pictures.  I thought "cool".  Then, I got a couple of messages from some creepy guys I didn't know.  One of the guys just wanted to "hook-up" and the other one was in his early 20's.  The younger of the two just wanted to tell me I didn't look my age and he'd like to meet me.  Ewwww!   I thought they had lost their ever-loving minds.  I'm funny about that kind of thing - I like a certain amount of respect and asking to "hook-up" ain't it.  After that, I made my profile private and since I have regular email, what was the point?

I do have one good thing to say about my experience on MySpace, I'm happy I did it for that short amount of time because I have a teenage son and it helped me understand the ins and outs of the site.  That knowledge also helps me snoop a little when he forgets to sign out.  Me snooping?  Yeah, I know.  It isn't the most honest thing but teenagers call for less than honorable measures sometimes.  If he doesn't like it, he needs to get his own house.  lol!  I haven't ever found anything on his page I thought was shocking or upset me.  Most of the time, I'm just checking or looking for the name of a girlfriend he isn't ready to tell.  ;-)

fearing----I can see why staying aware where your son is concerned is vital!  If I were raising my children today, that is what I would be doing....you bet ya!  Thanks!

queen----I was hoping you could help me find my way around there, I think it is kind of confusing.  Thanks.

I have a myspace account. It started out just chatting with the kids. But, now I talk to family on there since I live in a different state. It is just an easy way for all of us to keep in touch.

vacant----that does seem a good way to do it. Thanks.
