I was so bored I googled a few people I know.....ok, yes, old boyfriends.

I am still looking for this one dude that just disappeared on me somewhere around 1980, but no luck yet.

I did find out that one guy had moved back from one state to my previous one, and is married to a woman I know.

Another has stayed put.

I haven't googled myself yet.  I sort of know where I am.

I wonder if the world knows?  Or cares....

how do you google people? i mean i know you can put in peoples names but you wont necessarilyfind anything..what do you look for specifically?

I am backtracking, a little.... I googled a name,  yes, I then saw the side thing with "Find this person."  I was in truth on that....

But I once found out someone had passed away when I googled a name, and it took me to a site that announced the name in a cemetary.

Sorry I mislead there... I didn't even realize it myself until you asked!

I try to "Google" people once in a while. I usually search their name and a city or organization.  The results are mixed, though occasionally shocking.

BTW, thanks for the link.  It was totally appreciated.

hinana:  I just like looking, wondering, and sometimes being surprised.

everythingyouthink:  The results are mixed for me, too, but you never know what you're gonna get......life is like a box of chocolates.

I am glad you looked at the link.  I was thinking of you outside while smoking a cig and looking at the sky.

The funny thing about googling my name is that two things come up, the law firm I worked in over a year ago still has my photo on their web site and a soulcast blog about real names! the rest of its boring...

I've googled old friends and ex boyfriends - it's actually fun to see where they are now.

I actually google myself every 6 months or so.  Because of my business life, I am very active in a lot of different things and have met many people over the years.  You never know where you are going to turn up.  I actually found a post that was attributed to me as a referral to a person I had never been in business with before.  I kindly wrote to their webmaster telling them that they had 72 hours to remove my name from their website or that I was going to begin a lawsuit against them - it only took 24 hours before the reference was down.

I take my business reputation very seriously and make sure that all that is there is truthful.

I actually also googled my sister once and found her almost $800 dollars that was owed to her by the state she used to live in.  She thanked me profusely and told me that I just sent her son to camp for the summer.  :)

Lucy:  Wow, that's cool.  I don't think I would find myself anywhere.  I did find my same name, which is a rather odd one, as someone who died at age 9 back about 100 years ago!

    Queen:  Good luck with that!

FutureGoddess:  That sounds like a smart idea in your case! Nice that you found the money for your sister!

Oh why don't you? See what you might find out.
  • FutureGoddess said on Jul 05, 2008....
Wombie - there are a number of people with my name out there - not an odd name but a weird spelling of it - in fact, there is a girl with the same spelling of name who lived 5 blocks away from me when I was in school in a major city!  Weird!  Just put your name in quotes and see what happens.
  • wombat said on Jul 07, 2008....
skald:  All I have found on myself is that name in a cemetary plot in Missouri.  I have an odd name, sort of, and even that was really weird!

FutureGoddess:  I will try again one of these times when I am bored and can drag myself off SC!

Wonder if she is related to you Wombat.

    skald:  You never know--maybe!
