She says I should get a bigger place and she would come visit more often. I can't help feel like i'm being manipulated.

If she was a real friend the size of the place wouldn't matter. Unless she's planning to move in, the size of your place isn't her business. -

Everyone always counsels to talk it out and "let your true feelings be known" but it's really more difficult than it sounds. Have you ever try to talk to someone and come to an understanding? Usually, they just nod their head and go about doing the same thing they were doing before you had the talk. It's all about power: I'm going to do what I WANT and i dont care if you are right.Other times the person takes an attitude and holds a grudge. So, for those of you that are always talking it out, i think you dont really know what you are talking about.Mucho -

Power is doing what you want without regards to what others think or do.Children are powerless because they always have to do what the parents want, no matter what.There are a lot of grownup in "power trips" who will do what they want and not listen to reason or good common sense.
