I am fat.  Its a fact of life that I rather ignore but the mirror and the size of my jeans don't lie.  I have two choices:  Remain fat and face the consequences OR lose wieght and reap the benefits.  Sounds like a no brainer.

Here's what I want to know:  Will a man that finds a woman funny, pretty, smart and sexy be able to look beyond the extra 50 lbls she tries to hide?  I ask because I am ready to start dating again -mentally....but physically they ain't exact lining up with dance cards,if you know what I mean.

Should I save my embarrassment and wait another year or venture out and see how many rejections it takes for me to eat a gallon of fudge brownie ice cream?

you need to build up confidence in yourself first because even if you get into another relationship, you won't value yourself as you should and the guy will read that and probably take you for granted since he will think no matter what he does you won;t leave him. there are a lot of guys into big women btw so don't think we all like skinny chicks

Thanks for your answers.  In spite of sounding pathetic in this post, I really am confident in myself:

I am attractive, smart, sexy, funny, have great hair, skin, smile, eyes, breasts and legs....but those things get overlooked.  When I drop 40 pounds I look better but am the same person.  Men LOVE me at that weight, but I can't keep it off without strict diet and exercise but because of fibromyalgia that wipes me out...

I just want someone to look past the 40 lbs.

For me, honestly, it's not about the size, it's all about how a girl carries herself.  Even if a model walks down the street, if she can't carry herself well, sexy, or whatever you wanna call it....it doesn't really do it for me.  don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna look...but I would definitely take a bigger girl that knows how to carry herself.

Any girl, regardless of size, who knows how to laugh and have a good time....that is one of the sexiest things for me!!  You sound really attractive already and i mean that.

well scarlett ( love the name) if the plethora of men you date cant look past that, then THEY (and not you) are not worth it.
think of it that way..all that good stuff about you you listed..its ot you whos missig out on it..its them..so if u lose the weight great..but if you find a guy who loves you without losing it..and then lose it..well even better right?

I'm sorry.  Maybe it is different where i live, but plenty of bigger women have men here. Like burnedout said it is about the way you carry yourself, the confidence. And honestly it is most likely men who have the issues not you.
And i am sorry the way the first post came out, i couldn't tell if it was serious or meant to be funny .

I find a lady is not to be judged by her size. Her qualities and ability to make me happy comes first. Some of the most beautiful women do have extra pounds and that only adds to their desirireability,
