  I didn't deny it, I said the truth, there are plenty of questions when it come to the Holocaust. 
   
  And no denying the Holocaust and evolution are nearly identical.  The side that believes has facts and figures and heaps upon heaps of evidence.
   
  The side denying it is completely restricted to a few minor debating points and the rest is just calling the otherside liars.  They stick fiercly to some stupid selling point be it that they don't believe that an ameba could turn into a duck, or that cyclon-b was a popular pesticide at the time and would have been used to delouse jews, but it wouldn't kill people it's too weak. 
   
  Also it wasn't meant to justify bad behavior, it was meant to put focus where focus should be.  A person who denies evolution is going to stand squarly in the path of scientific advance (which is why medically we're falling behind in our research particularly when it comes to stem cell, cloning and genetics.  It's the "We can't play God crowd" that the rest of the world slapped down decades ago but we humor becuase well if they aren't forcing me to believe they should be left alone.  Till they elect say a president.)  A person who denies the holocaust. . .might maybe perform a hate crime against a jew, if he can find one. 
   
  A person who questions the holocaust (flirts with the idea) is filth?  Wow from somebody who boasts about being a big thinker it really ruffles some feathers when people aren't complete and utter sheep.  Question everything, well except for this.

  Denying evolution or God creating the universe...or indeed...the existence of God is one thing but denying that the Holocaust happened is total madness and/or a political manipulating statement for how can you deny the physical evidence that has been kept for the purpose of never having it happen again?

  The reasons are really complicated, the short answer is that unless you REALLY know what your talking about, if you get into it with an experienced denyer you'll lose, fall back to the safety point of you're evil because you don't believe what I believe, which it turns out is a terribly weak defense.

  The question is why they deny it - be it creation or holocaust. As if by admitting the truth, they'd lose something.

  Something that bothers me is that the Jews weren't the only ones sent to the death camps - but to mention the others can get you called a holocaust denier.

  I know Ex, you see my Uncle fought in WWII.
  He helped liberate the camps, and was stationed in Germany for a while after the war.
  He rarely talks about what he saw there, but he did meet and marry my Aunt in Germany.
  She wasn't Jewish, but her little brother was "euthanized" by the Nazis.
  His "crime" was being developmentally disabled (retarded).

  anyone who had relatives (mine being my dad), and hears people denying the holocaust feels like it is  taking away from all those who fought to defeat in Hitler and free the jews he still had enslaved in the camps.

  He almost succeeded in the anialition (sp?) of an entire "people", and I think there are those today that would like to see that happen again.  We must never deny the Holocaust, lest it ever be repeated.
