You have every right to be proud of the little man.  With the strenght he's showing at the ball diamond he'll have no trouble climbing the Calgary Tower!  Looks like a chunk of your summer is laid out for you.

:) Botty, he keeps asking if we can come visit and climb the tower. I think I may have to take up running again just to keep up with him and to be able to climb that tower. [whew].

I really need to invest in a better camera that does well with action shots because almost all of these are slightly out of focus. The one of him concentrating would have been better but the coach stepped into the shot range right as I snapped it so the camera re-focused on the coach's back, which I cropped out of the shot before loading it to Flickr.

I'm going to try for some better shots over the next few games, but I'll have to get someone to take over coaching 1st base for me to do it though.

He looks like he's really enjoying himself!!!

U-I: He is. He's especially enjoying sliding into home plate, even though he never really needs to. He just does it because it's fun and he gets covered in dust from head to toe.

Love the photos!  I miss those days when my son was smaller and playing soccer mostly.  He played T-Ball, but when he got older, he was bored with baseball.  He would stand out there playing with his shoes or something.....not caring to watch if the ball was coming his way....ha.  But I loved those evenings, the crowd, the food, the kids, the relaxing atmosphere!  Your little man is adorable!

(an afterthought:  I remember one evening I would have killed for a camera.....the sun was setting behind the kids playing on the field--a gorgeous sunset----and in between was the fair grounds with the ferris wheel etc...all lit up.  No one got a photo, I guess, because it would have made a great front page news story in the paper!)

Would you believe that in all my years of ovserving children play sports I've never witnessed a t-ball game.  I see your little man has learned to dispose of the bat with dispatch upon making the hit.  I have seen so many young ones head for first base with bat in hand only to drop it once they have arrived at base.

Wombie: Yes, that would have been some picture to capture if you had happened to have a camera. My son doesn't like playing outfield when he's asked to; he gets bored because at this age too few of the batters hit it hard enough to get the ball to the outfield. He loves playing 1st and second base or standing in the pitcher's position because, generally, balls come right at him if he's in those positions or they get thrown to him if he's at first.

He's actually one of the only kids on his team who does hit it hard enough to get it to sail into the outfield on occasion.

Soaring: We actually had to work with him to get him to not fling the bat because he was really letting it fly when he first started practice about 4 weeks before their first game. But yeah, he's pretty good about disposing of the bat as soon as he hits a ball.

Swinging for the fences!  (as you said!)  Cool kid....have fun, take all the pics you can, and in your mind, too.

It looks like a great time, Zayda.  :-)  My nephew plays Legion baseball and I've enjoyed several of his home games.  You are right.  It's a great way to spend a summer evening.

Ah, the memories...I used to get some great laughs too.

You took some super pictures. I don't mind slightly out of focus - gives a good sense of action.
