What a pleasure to hear your voices.  I think I my have just fallen in love with polarheart though.  I have always liked the British accent.  Skald, I was expecting a much thicker accent from you though, more like a german or swede accent.  Of course quietone sounded like tha gal next door which is always pleasant.

That was so fun!!!  I would imagine sitting in the middle of one of your conversations would be like listening to a trio of music.
  • botoni said on Jul 01, 2008....

The audio is wonderful ladies!  Each of you sounds very close to what I expected.  Skald - you sound so very much like my grandmother did.  Frozen - you bring to mind a co-worker from some time back.  Quiet - I'd have no problem identifying your voice as American.  (Just as you would have no problem identifying mine as Canajun - eh?).  What delight it is to actually hear each of you.

I'm renaming you all as "The Three Graces". Each an angel in her own way.

Soaring.  I am  not surprised that you fell in love with Polar. We all love her. Yes, Quiet is the very nice and pretty girl next door. I am  glad my accent does not sound thick to you. I felt that I sounded terrible my self. Thanks.
Uniquely  We are the Andrews sisters.
Botoni. You flatter us so much. The three Graces. And I thought we were the Andrews sisters. lol  In earnest I thank  you very much for this remark.

3 women, each from different countries thousands of miles apart, meet in a place that doesn't really exist. those same three women then meet in person in reality. they record their voices together, and post the recording back in that place that doesn't really exist so that people all over the world can hear what they sound like from the comfort of their own living rooms.

we are living in truely amazing times, my friends. it really is magic, if you stop and think about it.

i wonder how many of us really stop and think, and stand amazed at what this technology has brought to all our lives.
  • wombat said on Jul 01, 2008....
travelr712:  I have to add that yes, I did finally think of this------after several PM's with quietone about the trip-------it finally hit me that man, this is amazing!  I think we have all taken for granted how SC has brought people together.  And now, not just on here on line, but sometimes in real life.  Ain't this something special?   Sometimes I comment about how if I hadn't accidentally clicked onto this site, where would I be now, what would I be doing?

    I can't imagine it......hello travelr......we are here.  And we make a noise!

What pleasent voices you all have.  I love Polar's British accent as it brought back memories of my days in a British School.  I too expected Skald's voice with a heavy accent and pleasently surprised that it didn't happen.  Quietone sounded like soaring said...the gal next door.  :^)
This was a good surprise.  I must look into why my computer at home doesn't take the link but the one at work does.

What a neat thing to be able to hear your voices!  Now, quiet's accent is really no accent to me.  Hers sounds just like mine.  Polarcakes, I do love to hear the charming combination of South Africa and the UK when you speak.  And skald, your voice is quite musical.  I'm not surprised that you love to sing.  :)

Thanks, friends, for sharing not only your voices, but the whole adventure in Iceland.  It's been very special.

  • gingersoul said on Jul 01, 2008....
Skald....you nominate me? Meaning i have to record my voice too now?.....lol...
    Uhmm.......i might even do it.....;-)

I told you.......you girls inaugurated a brand new trend here at Sc  .....

Wombie.....oh, i so agree with you....no idea how much......:-)
  • destinydiva said on Jul 02, 2008....

  • scipio said on Jul 02, 2008....

Somehow, I can't access the video. It is showing that video is no longer available.

But from the comments, I can make out the voices. "The Three Divas" in Iceland.

  • beyondtheveil said on Jul 02, 2008....
That was just one of the neatest things ever done on SC. Now, every time I read the three of you, I'll hear your voice.

(I'd like to hear ginger's accent too, so I could hear her when she writes)
  • silverwhisper said on Jul 02, 2008....
that's hands down one of the coolest blog entries i've encountered here!

skald, thank you for recording & posting this audioclip. your voice & accent is quite as i'd imagined, actually. :>

quietone: yep, clearly as the yank, you were the odd woman out. :D

polar: for some reason, in my mind i've always imagined your voice as having "the BBC accent"--i'm glad that i now know better. i hope you're feeling better now?

and trav's absolutely right. well said, sir.

  • skald said on Jul 02, 2008....
Wombie.  Yes, our very musical voices. Do hear them again, please----- lol

    Ifbno.
    Thanks a lot. :-)
Pickers.  Yes, it was fun making the video for you all fine SoulCasters.
Mimi.  Awww I am sorry but later. You will hear us later. :-)
    Infernal.  Coooool yes.
Traveler   yes, you are so right and we just talked about it here in my living room. It is truly amazing. This was really a good comment.
Wombie.  A year a go I would never have suspected this and Quiet also said that she would not have believed it if someone would have told her that she was going to Iceland in a year.
Rolling.  I hope you get to hear it.
Woman.  It was our pleasure too. Thank you so much for this beautiful comment.
Fallyn.  Dear good to see  you. Thanks so much.
Queenie,  What an honor sounding like your grandma. Botoni said I sounded like h is. I don't know if I forgot to thank him but I think this is so sweet. Yes, Quiet has a very nice American way of speaking and Polar sounds so sweet. Tahnks queenie.
    Kyle.  Thanks for listening in.
Rolling.  I see you have heard it and you certainly must look into that. Quiet is so much like the girl next door. She looks like my friend Systa and she even laughs like her. So she is like the girl next door. Polar was also in an English school and is  very British is she not.
Mimi  Are you saying Quiet does not have an accent? hahhahh She has one, American and very nice one. I would like to imitate her. lol
quiet said I sing when I speak. Yes Polar is a darling and she sounds so nice.
Ginger.  I am looking forward to hear you. I know you sound so nice. You Italian girl. :-)
Destiny.  Yes, now there are only the two of us and we miss Polar very much. We did this on the airport as you might have seen and we loved to do it.
Scipio.  Sorry you can't see it. Good you can hear the voices though. I will check this soon.
Beyond  Yes, I did  nominate her to be the next one and I would like to hear her too. Thanks
Ed.  I knew somehow that you had heard me before. I kept on hearing  your voice in the begin. I wonder if I was right. Maybe someday you will post your voice too.
quiet is clearly the yank. lol
And Polar has such a sweet accent. She is glad she is not the BBC voice.
Me  I am smiling Thanks so much.
    rmuxagirl.  Thanks so much. :-)

I loved hearing your voices!!!  I knew what Polar sounded like (love her accent) but I did not know how you or Quiet might sound.  Love your voices too!
  • quietone said on Jul 03, 2008....
skald - see I kept telling you and polar I was not the one with the accent!  hahaha.  This was a fun thing to do.  Now others should share as well, I think.  it would be just as fun to hear moon, or queenie or some one with that souther drawl...wombie!  LOL thanks for the fun we had doing this!
  • skald said on Jul 03, 2008....
    Cw.  Thanks :=)
    Fearing.  Thanks a lot.
Quiet.  hahahha   I would love to hear any of them. Southern drawl I love. They do sound so nice., Wombie. will you record something for me.?
  • hotaka said on Jul 04, 2008....
Okay, now I know I have to bring my computer to work. I want to hear these voices. It sounds like Polar is the heartbreaker of you three with her charming accent. I can't wait to hear you ladies.
  • hotaka said on Jul 12, 2008....
At last I heard this, Very nice. Polar sounds really southern, no doubt from living in South Africa before. Quietone sounds , well, American but not what I expected from... did someone say she was a westcoaster? Eastcoaster yes. Then the accent fits. Skald sounds like my family back home in Denmark almost but slightly different. It was great to hear you but wasn't it weird filming a wall and a corridor in the airport while talking at the camera?
  • quietone said on Jul 12, 2008....
hotaka ~ I never lost me eastcoast twang as they call it, but, yes, I did live on the west coast for 10years as well.  It would have been harder to talk "into" the camera for me.
