short version: several weeks ago, netflix announced they were killing the profiles feature, an ability for multiple people to have their own film queues in a single subscription. turns out that the film rental giant has changed its mind: profiles are here to stay. long version here.

commentary: as avid users of netflix, my wife & i have a 4 disc at a time subscription for which the profile feature is absolutely indispensable in managing our different, respective queues and we were trying to figure out how we were going to adapt to this change. she was pretty annoyed by the proposed change, enough so to prompt her to e-mail them with an impassioned appeal to keep the feature. and she’s nowhere near as opinionated as i am.

so well done, netflix! :D
