  Went back and read that post, and sorry I missed it on that day.  He sounds like an uncle of mine, who always had spearmint gum.....which is what I remember about him now.

  Thank you so much everyone! Its been rough around here, since my grandmother is living with us. I was basically left alone with her yesterday and had to lock myself in the bathroom so she wouldn't see me crying before my aunt could get here and tell her.
  
  I was one of the last people to see him alive the day before, and I'm just grateful that I got the nerve up to go see him. Since I found out he was really sick a few months ago, I started to avoid him. But decided that I would go on Sunday...and then the next day, he was gone. Just like that...
  
  Today I had a job interview and all I could think about was my grandfather. My mom and her siblings are all going to Haiti on Tuesday for the funeral, but the wake will be here in NY on Saturday.
  
  Sometimes I think he's still alive, in his nursing home, just waiting for one of his children to come bring him some food.

  The wake is tomorrow. They want me to say the eulogy. NOT happening. Half the people there won't be able to understand english, and I'm not standing in front of all those people to pour my heart out...no.
