Well, if it isn't one thing .......... it's a bunch of smaller things. Apparently when I wasn't paying attention to the weather it decided to get worse. As I drove to work today I noticed the air was kind of smokey. It was hard to tell with the fog bank rolling out to sea and of course the usual pollution that sometimes creeps up and makes life unpleasant. The hills looked like an underexposed picture, kind of murky.
So, in true uniquely fashion I got onto the internet news to find out what was going on. Apparently some storm got all ADD on it's self and started a few hundred fires. The latest number is over 800. None are close to me, but the smoke is such that my planned lunchtime walk will be not happening. I tend to get a little asthmatic when I exersize in smoggy (or smokey) weather.
The governator seemed a little surprised by the large scale of the problem, which is kind of unusual. He's usually so unflappable. I'm not worried yet, but I'm also hoping we don't get any more sneaky lightening storms.
