Today the first of quotes I ve requested to reshingle the roof on the house and garage arrived. The quote was a bit more reasonable than I anticipated. Then came the shocker. In bold red lettering at the base of the quote is this warning......
"Due to the large increases in transportation, fuel, labor and raw materials, this estimate is only good until July 25th/2008. We have been told the increases after July could be as much as 40%. If you would like an estimate for after July please call after July 15th/2008."
If that large an increase is happening in this arena what are we to expect in other areas? We're complaining about the direct effect of gas prices when we fill our vehicles. Wait until those increases hit ALL the rest of the market place.
