In the past week I've been bidding my little heart out on auctions at eBay.  My one rule for eBaying is I don't bid any more than about thirty dollars for any one item.  And I usually stick with items I already know something about.  I've been bidding on quilting fabric, something I know a little bit about.  And hey, I've won two auctions so far!  Okay, maybe it's an indication of how pathetic my life is, but it's pretty cool to win.

My name is Unique and I'm an ebay-oholic.

Several years ago I got so into it that it was making all kinds of trouble financially.  I rarely go there now because I know how seductive the feeling of winning is and how little implulse control I really have.

Mimsiepoo!  Ebay is my other home.  Over the past two years I have purchased a whole wack of stuff ranging from one silver spoon for a couple bucks all the way to a hot tub for $500.00 + $250.00 shipping.  I' ve bought additional pieces for my daughters' discontinued china and my own stainless flatware, clothing, antiques, petite point dining chair seats, DVDs, small and major appliances, and the list goes on.  Now when I am looking for something I always check Ebay first, then shop in physical stores and then make a decision.  I've done very well on there.  So welcome to my world.

It sounds like fun, but I would get carried away, I just know.  Good for you to have a set limit and know what you want!

You know, selling on eBay can be just as addicting as bidding on auctions.

I always go to Ebay at Christmas time.  Other times I price things in the stores and then see what kind of deal I can find there instead.  Like you said, it's great fun.  :-)  I keep saying I should have a book sale there.  I need to quit talking about it and do it.

Selling got WAY too expensive for me with their fees and PayPal's fees for accepting credit cards.

Buying, I use auctionsniper.com to place my max bid and it enters a bid for me during the last seconds of an auction.  I haven't bought much from there since Christmas either.

LOL  I just realized I bid on two of the very same item!  Good grief!  I've never tried to sell anything.  I mostly just like to browse.

I have never tried Ebay.  I have thought about trying to sell some baseball cards on them and not sure if I should.  What would you suggest?
  • MissMimi said on Jun 24, 2008....

I've suggested to my daughter that she try to sell some of her sports card collection, but she was horrified that I would even suggest it.  lol

I've never tried to sell anything, muxie, but I've noticed that baseball cards are pretty popular at eBay.

You would not believe some of the weird things up for auction.
