Why oh why are cats so fussy? I've had her about 6months now she was originally a stray. At first she ate anything that was put infront of her she needed fattening up so I bought her really good food but for a few months she's turned her nose up at everything offered! I decided to buy chicken and gravy and made her own special food (being a vegetarian this was not a nice job) She couldn't get enough of it...Great I thought as it worked out cheaper than buying shop cat food however a week later she turns her nose up once more!! My meat eating friends said they'd even eat what was made so why won't she eat it? A friend was eating a donut and the cat wanted that also pizza and noodles is it a matter of once a street cat always a streetcat? Should I just feed her scraps instead? She is also about 18yrs old.Any cat owners out there? Help b4 I go mad

How do you know how old she is? Cats like consistancy. Is the cat inside only? Someone else might be feeding it. Get some wheat grass, many grociery stores have it in the produce section. Just be patient - buy some good quality food and the cat will eat it in its own time. Paul Newman has a new line of pet food that is cruelty free.

If she was a stray, maybe she got used to eating out of trash cans. Scraps may be what she likes. I would think something with fish in it, but I do not know. I only have a dog.

Have you taken her to the vet? It might be worth it, just to make sure she really IS just being fussy, especially if she's that old. Other than that... cats are probably like kids who are fussy eaters: they'll turn up their noses, but they're not going to starve themselves. I'd leave a variety of choices out and let her decide when and what she wants to eat.

18? Wow that's a venerable age for a feline. If she's off colour please take her to the vet just to be sure everything is alright.

Lol...glad she came back. Did she stay away for long? Yeah, the dry food is best, bit pricier, but they seem to like it so it's probably worth it.
