The term soulmate comes up in conversation and I give my pat answer.
"My soulmate came back as a squirrel in Arkansas. He is long gone by now in some backwoods stew."
Haha. Everyone laughs and the conversation rolls on.
But What If.
What if there really were such a thing as soul mates. Does that mean that those who never find theirs are Soul-Less?
How sound is a plan that puts billion of people on a planet then requires each one to somehow find that single other person who can complete them?
If you are not complete, how can you ever reach enlightenment? If you can't, what are all those celibate monks gonna do? Do they get a divine apology when they die and find themselves having to start over from scratch?
These questions make me want to say...
Please don't eat the squirrel stew.
