Today is Renee's 20th birthday. Dan and I decorated the outside of her bedroom door with crepe paper so she has to break through it when she comes out of her room. Olia thought it was funny and asked me if I was going to do that to her door on her birthday. I will have to make sure I do that on her birthday! At 10:00 Olia,Dan, Katelyn and I sang Happy Birthday to Renee several times, but she didn't come out of her room. 10:00 a.m. is EARLY for Renee on a Sat. morning.
Dan made hard boiled eggs for breakfast. Olia told me that her grandmother always saved the egg shells and put them on her plants and vegetables. So I saved them and used them outside on my flowers and my tomato plants. I bought the tomato plants because Olia wanted them. She said her grandmother always grew tomato plants. I think Olia likes to eat the tomatoes, but she doesn't like to help take care of them.
Olia wants me to help her make a myspace page. Some of her friends at school have made those pages. I think I will make her page private because I don't want any strangers contacting her. Renee told me I shouldn't allow Olia to have a myspace page because people can hack into it. I will have to think about it.
We went and bought a full bed for Dasha today. We needed a bed for our guest room so it worked out fine. We went to a discount furniture store and Dan tied the bed to the top of the car. Olia enjoyed the whole adventure. When we got home and unloaded the bed; we took off to a nice restaurant for lunch for Renee's birthday. After lunch, we walked through a small park and Olia rode on the swings and climbed the monkey bars. Renee wanted to go to a local art/pottery shop so we stopped in there. I am always hesitant to take Olia into expensive small shops because she touches everything even though I tell her to just look, and not touch. We didn't stay long in the shop because Olia kept touching the items and I didn't want to shell out $75 for a bowl! We lit Renee's birthday candles when we got home and we sang to her and she opened her presents. Renee likes a perfume called "Curious." There was a regular size bottle and a small purse sized bottle in the package. Renee gave the small bottle to Olia, she said to Olia, big sister and small sister bottles, so you can have the small bottle. Olia was glad, but mentioned how she would really like the big bottle!
Tomorrow is Father's Day! We bought Dan some pool floats! One is a ride on alligator that shoots water, which Dan will love to use and splash Olia. Olia wrapped all of his gifts and then printed out some train pictures from the computer. Dan loves trains. In the late afternoon Olia's friend Marissa called her to come over and play. I was thinking, this is great! I hurt my back doing gardening so after I drove her to Marissa's house, I went to lie down on my bed and just watch TV and rest my back. I think I was on the bed for about 10 minutes and Olia called saying the girls wanted to come to our house and swim. So they are now swimming in the pool! It was a nice 10 minutes!
