I haven't posted in so long, it's possible that no one will read this, and that's fine, but I'll proceed as though my audience is substantial...
I stopped posting on SC just under a year ago, I believe. It was due in part to writer's block, in part to a lack of intelligent political discussion, and perhaps most largely in part to a lack of time (two small children will do that to a person, I've found). At any rate, I'm announcing my triumphant return.
I'm formulating a good politcal post right now, but it's not quite ready to be put onto the screen. However, here are the highlights of what's going through my mind right now, less than five months from election day-
1. I'm not old, not a racist, not a homophobe, not a sexist, not undecuated, and will be voting Republican in November. If this seems impossible, then things are worse than I thought.
2. People, I don't care what Rush Limbaugh told you, the oil companies are raping us.
3. Barack Obama's ideas for change are the same ideas expressed by every Democratic presidential candidate since the 60's. Why is everybody believing them now?
4. Dear Hillary supporters...I hear you're refusing to vote Democrat now. Thanks!
5. As much as I love elections, and though I clearly support one candidate over the other, I still remain aware of one significant fact - none of this matters.
