About a year ago, I quit drinking soda regularly. I drank about 1 can a day before that time. I switched to a small water bottle. This has made a great difference in my life. The first noticeable thing was my skin got cleared up, and had a nicer glow to it. I also felt I had more energy with less crashing (no more sugar rushes). Since I have always exercised about 3 times a week, I didn't notice the typical 10 pounds in 2 weeks change when most people stop drinking soda.

Did any of you make this change yet? I highly recommend it.

water is a good diet practise, here in asia, the climate is hot and get dehydrated...water is an important thing...1-3 liter a day. soda is very high in sugar...diabetes is not a good news. *have u seen the waterboy movie?

I haven't made that change but I'll give it try. I started to think that I drink too much soda anyways so a change should be good.

I am constantly trying to give up soda. It's odd, but I choke on water. I really do.

I'm a water drinker too. I sometimes put a slice of lemon in it just to give it a different taste. You can also use a lime, or even a piece of orange...

I can NOT give up soda. For some reason, coffee doesn't even give me the amount of psychological caffeine soda does. Since i'm addicted to caffeine, i see no other way around my issue. But... as it is i'm 105 pounds... so on that front... It doesn't matter, and I drink quite a few a day... so I never "crash" until sleepy time!

I gained 55 pounds when I was pregnant with my second child. I am not a big water drinker, but I will drink Propel (flavored vitamin water). Anyway, I swore off all soda and drank that instead. I am only a few pounds shy of my original weight (and have been for quite sometime). I do allow myself the occasional soda, now. But I try to limit my intake. Or if I want an extra soda, I cut my food intake to balance.

i suspect that the real changes are more related to the drop in sugar consumption than caffeine or other stuff. i noticed the same when i stopped consuming most forms of sugar. :> ed

When I was desperate for caffeine, but didn't want the calories of soda, I would take caffeine pills or my favorite, caffeine chewing gum. "Mad Croc" spearmint flavor is IMHO, the best.

I don't drink soda mainly because most have aspartame or other artificial sweetners in them. I drink lots of water with occasional cups of tea and coffee and am quite happy like that.
