The state of Louisiana has sentenced 29 year old Michael Garcia to death. Mr. Garcia is a Michigan resident. Michigan does not have the death penalty in it’s penal code. Michael Garcia was found guilty of stabbing a homeless man to death and rapping a homeless women. This is truly a saddening case.

Crimes against homeless people have been on the rise over the last few years. With the weakening US economy more people are losing their jobs and ending up as homeless.

I’m so proud of the state of Louisiana for upholding the law for the thousands of Americans who are homeless. Let it be known that an attack on a homeless person will be punished severely in the State of Louisiana.
