Who's reading CreativeWoman (614):
There's a Blue Collar Comedy special on Comedy Central right now.  I'm just listening to it as I'm doing what I do on the computer to basically waste time.  I've come to a realization though.

Jeff Foxworthy may be funny, but the pitch of his voice is the equivalent of fingernails scratching down a chalkboard to me.

I guess the laughs balance out the ringing in my ears.

Anybody with me on this?

Maybe I have just gone completely Looney Tunes.

He does have an irritating pitch to his voice.  If he wasn't so funny he'd never make it as a public speaker.

I watched that too.  Always get a kick out of it.

    UI,
I feel the same about him.  I think Ron White is my favorite of those guys.

I like each of them for their very unique sense of humor, but it's a toss up between Ron White and Larry the Cable guy for me.

    UI,
They all make me laugh, but Ron White makes me laugh the hardest.  Larry The Cable Guy is from an area near some of my old stomping grounds.  I know people who knew him before he was famous.  :-)

really?  That's cool.  Was he a nice funny guy or just blindly ambitious?

I think the thing that gets me about Larry's sense of humor is that I grew up in a family that has some resemblance to his.  Ron White, on the other hand, I see as more of a smart wit and I like that he draws you along with the story.

I do know what you mean about the voice but I think I just folded it into his character and that man (and friends) is FUNNY. I do love to laugh, don't you?

    UI,
Yes.  He's just a nice funny guy they tell me.

I agree about Ron White's story telling.  I can find a little common ground in the material of all four of he Blue Collar guys.

    woman,
I do love to laugh.  I need to do it more often.

When this first came out, I was in stitches in the middle of the afternoon....I got kind of bored with the same kind of jokes after awhile--and yes, Jeff's voice is annoying--I caught that same show I think--and switched channels after one or two jokes.  I liked Ron White and that other guy--not the cable guy--can't think of his name off the top of my head, when it first appeared.  He has that comedy show....what the heck is his name....Bill Engvall!

(The tater salad/thrown out of the bar bit was my favorite, though)

    pickers,
    It is hilarious. :-)

    wombat,
Ron White has his own special called, "You can't fix stupid".  It's really good if you like him.  Bill Engvall is pretty good too.  I like his "Here's your sign!".
