uniquely-ironic's post last week about dressing green reminded me of a story I read online about Sarah Jessica Parker's (Sex And The City) new clothing line, Bitten.
I wasn't surprised that Parker would come out with her own clothing line. After all, her Sex character Carrie Bradshaw is well known for her great fashion sense- but what i was surprised to read is that instead of going the high fashion/expensive route, Parker is launching a low-price, high-fashion line available exclusively at Steve & Barry's stores. Everything in the collection comes in sizes 2–22 and costs less than $20!
The line will be available to purchase on June 7th but you can get a sneak peak of the line on her official website, www.bittensjp.com
The “Bitten” collection is Parker’s first-ever apparel line, which she teamed up with Steve Barry’s to produce. The collection aims to offer high-quality, affordably priced sportswear for women of all ages and sizes.
“Women should be able to wear great clothes and not lie in bed at night feeling guilty about how much money they’ve spent. High quality, luxurious clothes do not need to cost as much as we’ve been led to think.”

Parker's new line includes: suit separates, shoes, shirts, dresses, lingerie, denim, T-shirts, nightgowns, cashmere sweaters, swimwear and accessories. I saw a great tote bag for $9.98! I mean how can you go wrong?
I had never heard of Steve and Barry's - but they claim to hold down costs by doing 0 advertizing, their own manufacturing, and selling in large volumes.
There are 200 Steve and Barry stores in 33 states. They're based in Washington NY.
