I loooove quotes too, Zayda.  Here are some of my favourites:

"Good ideas are like babies crying in church.  They should be carried out immediately."

"Most people miss opportunity, because its dresssed in coveralls and looks like work."

"Those who have done nothing are not entitled to judge or criticise those who have done little."

"Teamwork equals success.  Even freckles would make a nice tan if they just pulled together."

These are all brilliant!  I love quotes too and I know I know loads but they won't play ball and come to the forefront of my brain.  Oh well - I'll keep popping back and just read if I can't remember them :-)

If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, then it's truly yours.  And if it doesn't...HUNT IT DOWN AND KILL IT!!

I'm sure I know more, but I'll start with that :)

    When in doubt, do nothing.

(or in some cases, when in doubt--throw it out)

Not funny ones, but ones that have helped me make many decisions!

"Puritanism - the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy." Henry Mencken

On a serious note, Henry David Thoreau is at the top of my list of authors, and he is an endless source of meaningful quotes.

Life's disappointments are harder to take when you don't know any swear words. Calvin & Hobbes

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” Dr. Seuss

    "I'm afraid sometimes
    you'll play lonely games too,
    games you can't win
    because you'll play against you"”

     Dr. Seuss

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

     Dale Carnegie

    Ooh Calvin quotes!

Calvin: "THIS is a job for...ack! oof! *trip*"
    Hobbes: "For?"
    Calvin: "...somebody else."

"Sometimes I think the surest sign intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us."

...now I want to read all my Calvin books again.  Except they're at my parents' place, so I guess that's buy-and-then-read all my Calvin books again.

    From an old sig:

"The author regrets that he is unable to reconcile himself to the
thoughtful point of view you have expressed. However, it must be kept
in mind that being raised in different cultures and different places can
result in such differences of viewpoint between individuals.
The author is from planet Earth." [author unknown]

The quotes I like do not reflect my political or religious beliefs, I just like them:

Ezakiah Valentine, most famous for his 1936 work, 'The Limitations of Progress', which featured the phrase -
"One day everything will crash and everything will burn. Right now all that is burning is the belief that change can occur. We need to put out that fire and start a much bigger one."
Joe Strummer, may he rest in peace, former lead singer of the Clash:

"He who fucks nuns will later join the church."

"Career opportunities are the ones that never knock.  All they want to do is just keep you off the docks...career opportunities are the ones that never knock...oi.vey.."

"What do we have for entertainment? Cops kicking Gypsies on the pavement.."

Click Here "I admire Madonna because she always did whatever she felt like doing. She went through some controversial periods when people rejected her, but she kept on reinventing herself. "

Click Here I always believed that women have rights and that there are some women that are intelligent enough to claim those rights. There are some others that are stupid enough not to.
