The day dawns silently. I watch as the sky slowly turns from a dusky blue to a bright orange. This is the moment of the sun's victory as the moon retreats, knowing that her time shall again return.
I sit on my unmade bed facing the window and my soul is stirred almost to the point of tears. Yet then i see the stream of cars on the main road. i realise that those streams of people probably barely take the time to focus on this almost miraculous moment. it gets me thinking about all the times that i have passed by a flower and in my self-obsession failed to notice it plain beauty.
in that moment i come to realise that we live our lives oblivious to the multitude whilst focused on that which is insignificant. we miss the forrest for the trees.
