i got a good doctor story for you,

the doctor was givning me a physical, and he checked my throat first, and said, your teeth are in good shape.

I look at him like britney does when she says huh?  I took out my false teeth, and showed him,

he looked shocked and shook his head.....The guy didn't realize they were false!

How about you?  Do you have a doctor story you can share with us?...

Yes, when I was 17 I was working in a shoe store and served a little shit! (okay just ask Pap I'm in a fowl mood) anyway little shit had the fricking measles....

Indian doctor who could speak very limited English diagnosed and I kid you not Foot in Mouth disease, now in Australia there haven't been cases of foot in mouth for bloody decades, I didn't know that at the time I was sick!

So with super dooper pills that made me into a coked out freak I got sicker and sicker.... finally went to my own Indian doctor (not kidding he was the dude) and he put me in hospital with sever measles infection! he said I should have sued, I was out for over 10 months, have the scars to show and will never ever ever allow myself to believe one doctor again, I will of course go to at least three to make sure!

This is one of those icky memories that I can't forget but if you guys can get a laugh then here goes.

Throughout my childhood I went to the same family doctor. He was a good doctor and never over-reacted to anything. He was old and experienced and always had a solution that didn't include a hospital stay or lots of medicine but that worked.

One day I went in for my usual check up and he asked me, "How are you?" I said I was fine. He replied, "Then why are you here?" He gave me the usual check up and confirmed I was fine. Then he said, "I heard you are having problems with your circumcision. Drop 'em." I did what he asked but I was wondering who the hell would tell him I was having circumcision troubles. Did the person who did the job when I was an infant say to my mother I might have problems when I was older? The doctor looked me over and said, "Whoever did it did a fine job. There's no problem." I was really embarrassed. Of course I had no problems. Really, who would tell him such a thing?

When I was 34 weeks pregnant with my second child, I started having blood pressure problems. My OB/GYN allowed me to work (I was teaching morning classes at the time) as long as I came home and took it easy for the rest of the day.

One morning after class, I was feeling funny, so I went to the university's health services center to get my BP checked. It was 150/100, the highest it had ever been, and the nurse on duty recommended I see my doc immediately.

My doc wasn't in that day, so I had to see the doctor on call. While I waited for her, a nurse hooked me up to a fetal monitor. (BTW, my blood pressure at the doc's office was 150/110.)

When the doc came in about 15 minutes later, she said, "So, Eilan, why is your blood pressure so high?"

I thought, "You went to school for this and you're asking me? Duh!"

Eilan--Duh!...there is no other word for it.....100 on the bottom troubles me greatly, what was the reason, do you remember?

Dee, I didn't have pre-eclampsia, or at least the lab results didn't point to it.  Just the high blood pressure.  With pregnancies #2, #3, and #4, the goal was to get me to 37 weeks so I could be induced.  I didn't have any problems whatsoever when I was pregnant with my first child.  Weird.

When I'm not pregnant, my BP's are on the low end of normal.

I had chronic double-ear infections growing up ... it bloody continued until I was 23 ... AnYwAy .... I called up to make an appointment (this is back when I had health insurance) and they asked me if I would mind seeing an RN - to which I said I did not have a problem.

After I get checked in and all that fun crap ... I'm sitting on the the exam table waiting for the RN ....

She walks in ... looks at me ... doesn't say hello or anything ... the first words out of her mouth were "Have you always had a problem with weight?" .... I told her that I was there because my ears hurt and I thought I had an ear infection .... she doesn't even examin me and asks what kind of pills I want ...
