I am setting off to a weekend of talking, talking, and more talking.  Perhaps even a bit of high profile screaming; a time when blowhards step up for their five minutes of painful fame.  And this reminds me of the presidential campaign.  In one corner, we have presidential hopeful John Sidney McCain III.  In the other, we have Barack Hussein Obama.  Which one will be president?  Who knows!? Which one will bring change!?  Ah, again, who knows!?  Of course, Obama would like you to believe that McCain is just a third Bush term, but honestly, how ridiculous is that considering McCain's socially liberal, and fiscally conservative record?  And of course, McCain would have us believe that Obama is young, inexperienced and intellectually not curious (for only visiting Iraq once in 6 years).  But does young really mean dumb and incompetent?  That's what is being implied.  And can I ask who is experienced for the presidential office before taking it?  I mean really!  Besides, the president is only as experienced as his advisers!  Well, anyway, I am sick of all of this side pocket politicking, instead of addressing the issues.  And, what's more, I am sick of issues getting addressed, with no real intention of acting.  Who wants to hear the word change a million times only to find out later that it was just a talking point?  So, who ever wins this presidency, I hope, is the one who actually plans to do something for the good of America, not for the good of their own political interests.  I know, I know, keep dreaming.  If Barack makes it, I hope he lives up to the untouchable messiah he's campaigned himself to be.  If McCain wins, I hope that he changes Washington in a way that one would expect an honorable, torture ridden, military hero to do.  Enough with the talk, let's see some action.  Of course, there is another problem in the way of that.  In two words: Senate and Congress.  I am not sure which is more incompetent: Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi?  All I know is they have done absolutely nothing.  Well, that's not true, Nancy put on a Burka when visiting Syria.

    Great post MH.
You're right, I hope whoever becomes president, is up for the challenge.

Thanks pickersplock.  I am sure many feel the way we do.  It is numbing to think of all the time, money and energy wasted on Washington hot air.  Well, here's hoping for real "change."

And what's more, the REAL campaign hasn't even started yet!

Curm, thanks.  And you're right, the REAL campaign hasn't even started yet!  I am so disillusioned by all of this.
