Those planning on buying HTC's newest 'Touch Diamond' will also now be
able to avail the Opera Mobile 9.5 browser on their smart phones.
Opera Software has announced availability of the latest version of
its mobile Web browser - Opera Mobile 9.5 - on the HTC Touch Diamond;
the customized HTC-specific version promises easy one-handed viewing
and effortless navigation making your favorite Web sites look exactly
as they would have on your desktop.
The
HTC-specific version introduces a new intuitive user interface (UI),
and includes numerous innovative features that promise to elevate the
Internet experience on a phone. Page viewing and panning allows users
to scan and navigate pages quickly while Opera Zoom enables them to
dive into the page and get closer to
the content they want to. By turning the device sideways, the Web page view changes automatically from portrait to landscape.
Improved tabbed browsing makes multi-taking a breeze while
productivity tools such as the ability to save pages for offline
browsing, auto-completion of Web addresses, and Web manager make for a
more enjoyable Web experience on the phone.
Additionally, Opera Mobile 9.5 allows users to easily share images
from online photo albums or any other Web site through MMS or email.
Other features include: improved text wrap, call phone number directly
from Web pages, history and bookmarks, and copy text
Jon von Tetzchner, chief executive officer of Opera Software, said,
"Opera Mobile 9.5 on the HTC Touch Diamond will bring to customers the
most powerful Web browser yet on a mobile phone."
Peter Chou, president and chief executive officer of HTC Corp,
said, "We have worked very closely with Opera Mobile to deliver a
feature set and browsing experience that is optimized for mobile, but
viewed like it would on a PC."
The HTC Touch Diamond has been launched in India this week itself.
It will be available to customers across all major European carriers
next month. The North American and Latin American versions of the Touch
Diamond will be available in the second half of 2008.
